I don't really know too much about these engines yet, but that looked like a great run, and that engine is beautiful. Congratulations!

Awesome vid. Great effort. Hope you continue to hold the top spot! As you know, I didn't see your run, but I thought Matt did a solid run by the end. At the start he lost confidence and wan't pushing hard enough, but by the end he found the spot and was putting in really solid laps. Everyone was struggling for grip on the loop around the steaming bays. It might have been more favourable for the smaller engines if they had put the start in the station. The trouble though is that they would have had the problem of how to get from the steaming bay to the station without affecting the fire too much before the run. From what I saw you must have done a very respectable run. I had a lovely afternoon watching the trains go by. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

It was lovely to meet up with you on the Sunday. Last years IMLEC we all crammed under a Gazebo to shelter from the rain this year all sheltering from the sun. We unexpectedly came into a LNER Locomotive Part built at the end of our Reading Society Auction. A Nigel Gresley and there was one at IMLEC this year. Today is boiler domes and regulators for the test. Are you coming up to the Mainline event at Rugby? David and Lily.

Great video, as usual Tom. Loco looked immaculate and the driver was relaxed and confident considering being under pressure. Great, well done and good luck staying at the top of the leader board.

Thanks. I’m confident in what I’m doing when I’m driving, and it helps having a loco that is running as well as that one is! A true pleasure to drive! Even managed to take a phone call on the run… lol.

Well done. No embarrassing stops for blow ups which seem to be common these days….. Clever measuring out your coal so you know how much you have used. Did you notch up at all? Good to see you trying to run without lifting the safety valves but “riding the needle” on the pressure gauge.

Thanks. I was hoping 2lb would be enough, but wanted a bit more with me just in case. Yes I was notched up, not far off mid gear a lot of the time. I did my best to hold the pressure back, it really is a pleasure to drive this, it responds so well to everything.
