Thanks so much for a great video. Quick tip for bottles that tend to stick- if you wipe the top and threads with a paper towel and then just give them a quick, light smear of silicone grease, it keeps the ink from cementing them shut. (I’ve been doing it with Iroshizuku bottles for years) . Thanks again for fantastic content and have a great 2021!

Hi Kerry! What are your favorite inks to use during summer? Here in Peru it is already summer and it is too hot, so much that I cannot bear to use warm inks like my always beloved Diamine Tobacco Sunburst. I've only been using blue ink for two weeks and now I feel like I need a turquoise ink, maybe seeing that color on the paper is refreshing ...

I love ink so much. But I didn't love shimmer ink until a friend and I figured out that Iroshizuku is so well behaved that it will grab the glitter from the last ink for you. And then hey, Tsuki-Yo with the bronze leftovers from Colorverse Hayabusa looks pretty great actually. XD There's probably a perfectly good reason we shouldn't be doing this but it's been a lot of fun and increasing shimmer ink use. So, throwing that out for anybody who doesn't love shimmer ink as much as they wish they did.

Isn’t it funny how we accumulate so many inks and then just dont get to use as many times as we think we should? I just re catalogued my inks and yes, i have too many as well. so funny.... the jacques Herbin inks is what got me down this rabbit hole.... I love using those I have to admit that I draw with them sometimes and love using waterbrush with them to smudge them. amazing collection

I feel like you don’t really get to know an ink until you’ve tried it in lots of different pens. I’ve been trying to do more of such exploration of my existing collection than to keep buying.

I too love browns. Waterman's brown is dirt cheap and it's a lovely warm shade and very well behaved. Ditto Montblanc Toffee Brown. Edelstein Smoky Quartz is really nice, reminds me of Lie de The and I like it much better. In wet pens it comes out very dark, almost off black, but it can shade into an almost creamy pale tea sort of brown. I also went out and got a bottle of Lavender Purple after watching that same video and blueberry pie filling is also what comes to mind every time I have used it. I've stopped using it though after discovering Cross Violet.

Sadly, KWZ didn't have a show ink for 2019 Scriptus. The show ink was Diamine Rushbrooke Blue.

Have you already tried the Robert Oster Burnt Orange? I would be interested in knowing how does it compare to Montblanc James Purdey & Sons Single Malt. How similar are their colours? This was an interesting video. Lots of really nice inks 🤗😍 Have a great New Year!

Haha. I spent my time cleaning 2 pens and refilling them... still am. Colorverse Hayabusa tints the water. ^^* Browns I'd want to dip into more, but I'm wondering if there's something less crusty/goopy compared to Monteverde Fireopal (I consider it my "brown"). It's near unusable without a tight sealing cap and even in long writing sessions it just... oozes. Otherwise, I'm hoping to bunker down and not do much more either... except search for a dupe for a discontinued ink.

Being new to the hobby, I may be asking a stupid question, but do people in the pen world ever have “ink swap” events?....seems like it might be a good way to get rid of inks we don’t like without just throwing them away. I finally threw away a bottle one time because it seemed silly to let it take up space.

Haven't used it myself but seen lots of people trade or sell unwanted inks on Reddit PenSwap. Not sure how worthwhile it is as the postage can sometimes be more than the ink itself, so an event like you say, (if one exists) would be better

hey great channel I'm a new subscriber. I got a few bottles of ink and i need to watch an expert on this. I'm more water soluble art I have a webcomic and i want to work with ink. I buy the most expensive stuff but I really only want functional really I'm debating of just working from nibs to bottle or ink well. of course I had carpet disaster with oxblood dark green and blue in a paint pallet somehow fell of my table and although closed made such a mess. anyway good channel I'll be watching and good job. I recently posted a video of etchr pens and i painted a robot. check it out if you like.
