I've looked through all your video titles and I'd like to suggest a "Fragrance Lover's Beginner Budget Buys." When you did your "perfumes every woman needs in her collection Boss" video, you had a selection for every taste so the starter line-up should be like that. Finding what it is a person loves. Oh my gosh I used to be obsessed with Cacherel growing up! Eden was my winter scent and for summer I used to interchange Amor Amor and Anaïs until I discovered Noa then I ditched them all for Noa. So good!

Tobacco is actually not smoky when done right. Smoky notes may be added by some companies, but tobacco itself smells earthy, warm, and slightly sweet. The tobacco note in the Banana Republic Tobacco and Tonka Bean is very prominent. It is strong, but dries down to the vanilla and tonka bean fairly quickly. It’s a really nice tobacco scent. Definitely for cooler weather like you said. It’s also perfectly unisex. Love these affordable fragrance videos, btw!

36:50 I love the "I'm near the ocean" smell and have been looking for it for years. I finally found it in Jennifer Aniston's Beachscape. My favorite this summer. 41:05 Another one I bought was Calvin's CK One Shock For Her because of the dry down mostly, very sandalwood, and it lasts for four days so far.

There's this perfume house that creates these affordable, one of a kind fragrances as well as cheap alternatives to super pricey perfumes (such as dupes to spirituese double vanille by guerlain or oriana by parfums de marly. ) It's called the Dua brand. They create these beast mode and expensive smelling perfumes (even though they are very affordable) that are just perfection. worth checking out, for sure.

2:17 In the mid-2000's I bought a bottle of Jean Philippe's version of Anais Anais because BF loved it. Soft, flowery, dries to powdery yummy. In spite of Fragrantica reviews calling screech, I bought Anais, Anais L'Originale. The opening notes of hyacinth & lily-of-the-valley are very strong, yes. But I love them. Do they smell like Philippe's version? Not at all. I still want a dupe for that. If anyone knows, I'd like to hear, please.

I had a stroke in 2021 and have had in-house caretakers ever since...and EIGHT of my perfumes have disappeared: Amazing Grace, Pop Bluebell, Kate Spade Walk on Air, Avon Sweet Honesty, Dune, Lucky You, Burberry Woman, and the cologne part of a cologne/lotion gift set, a vanilla. I am heartsick. I'm on a fixed income but I'm striving to replace these, though I'll never have money to replace Dune.

Awesome collection :). I actually think VLJ and VLJ Noir smell very different. I love VLJ but not VLJ Noir. Have you revisited the scent lately? Maybe your nose changed since it came out over a decade ago. I've been noticing sometimes my nose changes and I smell notes I didn't smell before. I highly recommend you revisit it, it's such a sexy scent if you do I would love to hear your thoughts.

I hate licorice and usually any perfumes that carry that note. I have yes I am and cannot smell licorice in it at all. I think there are so many notes so it just completely covers the licorice note. It’s such an amazing scent!

I hate licorice but grabbed a bottle for $19.99 when it appeared at my Shoppers discount shelf this week and I detect no licorice. It’s a warm gourmand that smells designer and lasts pretty well. It probably be even better in the fall.

@ksenja I know a much used trick to up longevity is indeed smear vaseline and then spray. However, my skin -dry as the desert and as sensitive as a newborn baby's - has the tendency to start itching w/ vaseline. And because it Is so dry Vaseline won't sink in. which almost makes it a useless action. Said dry skin really "eats" perfume - super annoying - so I really need a similar tip but with an emulsion or cream that won't lie on top of my wrists and neck. Would Nivea work? Or does that have too much of its own scent? Any other dry -dehydrated shin people here whose perfumes almost never last? (Interestingly enough sometimes dupes actually work better on me. NB. the real Libre will give me 2.5 hrs and the Libre Intense dupe from zara lasted over 7 h ! Red temptation, the BR540 dupe has major sillage on me & based on how strong it still is after 2 hrs - can smell myself big time from one roll on the wrist! - I fear -yes,fear - it'll last long too. l absolutely hate it and it has given me a huge headache. Never had that from a perfume. Why does everyone and their grandma rave about this stuff so much? I didn't like the original but someone convinced me the Zara or Revolution variant would then be yummy on me. Ugh! Both are one of the worst scents I've ever tried. Bad marriage with my pH most likely. I think I'll try to do an alcohol-rub because regular water wash didn't help. I'll give them to my mom first, but if she hates them too I'll probably gift them on IG or sell on Vinted for little. Just goes to show that Longevity and dominant notes are also very subjective ).
