A lot of people get this wrong, the original Sonya was played by a different actress, her name is Elizabeth Malecki from the first two Mortal Kombat Arcade games. She was replaced with Kerri Hoskins as Sonya in Mortal Kombat 3.

One of my fondest childhood memories was actually meeting her and one other actor from MK3 at an arcade event when the game released. She was very cool and I admit I was a bit star struck ha did get to play against her too felt sooo bad I did a fatality on her haha
