Are you blind? Not to be that asshole but theres a reason why consumer marketed cameras should not be judged by someone who isnt knowledgable in photography. The shadows are way harsher and the quality is much better on the 10. If the XS didnt mess up the camera, that would clearly be better than both of them.

Not an iPhone user but must admit that video was very intriguing. Great video showing what's going on. I really hope that all the manufacturer's don't end up following suit. I like to have a sharp, true colour camera with a HDR function that it switchable, then I like the ability to have editing after or adjustments prior to photo shots that I can adjust. Not a preset algorithm with no options for intensity at least. Enjoying the videos as always, keep up the great work.

Here’s the thing that people (including this crazy hack yelling in all his f’ing video) that the camera sensor chips are different in the front and the back. Selfie/Facelock camera does some processing for CLOSE UP items and people in the picture frame. The rear camera (rear cameras if you have the max) has some tweaking going on automatically that CAN be turned off...it’s the HDR he was probably banging on like an ape. I don’t do the selfie bullshit. Can proudly say I have never taken a single one in my 36 years. The people I know who do, HONESTLY, they would want this whether they know it or not and on top of that, every single person who takes a selfie messes with the picture so much it’s hard to discern their gender sometimes!

Appleinsider covered a video regarding this "beauty" mode. Because the iPhone XS is using smart HDR, it has to increase both the shutter speed and ISO value, compensating for its "zero lag shutter", meaning that it also has to increase noise reduction in post processing, giving it the "beauty mode" effect. Some people may like it others may not, but I guess that's how apple's image processing in cameras is going to work from now on

I don't know man, I was going to bite the trigger, I was about to pull the bullet and sign up on a contract to buy the XS Max but now I have seen this video I am having second thoughts. Between beautygate, forgetyourphoneinyourpocketandsitonitgate, pluginyourlightingcableaspecificwaywithoutwakingitgate and not having a 3.5mm headphone jack to plug in my AirPods or solo3 wireless I'm not sure I have any confidence in Apple. Watt Ng Dude, the iPhone 4 had an issue with the antenna not picking up a signal when the hand was over it. There were issues in the Steve Jobs era as well. Apple has always removed things, Apple has always been expensive, and nothing has really changed. I like to connect the removal of the headphone jack to the removal of the Floppy Disk. They both were highly used subjects, and many people were mad about their removal. Many people couldn’t use their floppy disks just as many people couldn’t use their headphones. Although Apple actually had an adaptor for a while to use old headphones.

Well, whateVer the problem is they will fix it by update but product is worst for it's price. You can't use earphones of ur choice , if you want to then you will have to get that 3.5mm converter . Which will cost you 100's of bucks obviously its Apple so It will be in 100's. Single sim device, no multi window app support , no AI functionality apart from portrait despite of having A12.
