Thank you very much for the review, Will! Seems to me that the bike is very well spec-ed right from the start. The only thing that probably really needed replacement is the stem. All the rest is like a personal preference of yours.

Looking good Will, thanks for the update. How are you finding the battery efficiency? I'd be tempted to change the amflow decals to silver too
@BentonL2 күн бұрын
14:00 I think that rattle is the battery. You will eventually see some marks and you can figure out how to dampen it. I used double sided tape but left one side not peeled. Its the right squishiness to keep mine from rattling. Mine is a different type of battery but it sounds the same as yours. Worth looking into. You have 3 months of use so you should see something.

I've been running Argotal's front and rear for 12 months now and honestly, they are bloody amazing. In the UK there's only about 4 days of the year when you feel like you need something designed for dryer conditions. I've recommended them to several mates and when they've tried them, they've been blown away.

What great content about this bike your putting out, thanks 🎉 You don’t like the rattling and noises and fair enough! Personally, I don’t give a thing. But I can see your next upgrade is going to be a motor-gearbox, high pivot and belt - but that’s much more expensive (and quiet😂). PS: Shigura with Galfer pads would have been better and cheaper and no stuck pistons, just saying….😉

Hey Will, definitely on the same page here pal. I swapped out the brakes too as I couldn't get on with the Magura's.. Fitted the same Code stealth ultimate and HS2 Rotors. Also got the same Forx cranks through Steve out in New Zealand, but went with black as mine is the silver base model, with Silver Hope pedals. However I swapped out the chainring for a Hope in silver, probably won't last as long as a steel one but will go with the XX T type one when it's eventually released. I'm running the XX T type transmission. AXS Reverb 170 dropper. Swapped out the stem also as it whilst is a nice piece of machining it wasn't strong enough. Went with a silver Hope gravity stem and One Up carbon bars. Fan of Ergon GE1 grips and SM Pro saddle. Upgraded the forks with Grip 2 damper and bleed valves. Finally finished off with Zipp 3zero Moto 2 carbon wheelset with Magic Mary and Big Betty. I had all these parts already, hence my choice of the Base PL model. Wisely I fitted an invis kit when I had it all stripped down. Absolute love it, it climbs like nothing else and tracks brilliantly with plenty of pop. I can't feel any frame flex that's been mentioned and I've pushed it pretty hard. Thankfully my motor seems quite too. Hopefully it will stay this way.🙏 Keep up the great content and stay safe out there pal when pushing it 👍

I can't get my code ultimates to feel good any tips? I want them to start feathering then bite hard immediately, but it feels like I have to death grip them till it hurts my hands, not sure if I need to rebleed or start fiddling with the settings
@shaneycarter88032 күн бұрын
@LastAphelion definitely not right for Codes this. Make sure you bleed correctly. If it has the bleeding edge fitting at the caliper of, open 1 full turn. Connect the syringe to the lever and make sure that the lever is practically adjusted all the way out from the bars. Also adjust the contact knob practically out too away from the arrow. Push fluid all the way through, then lock off the edge and then pull back on the syringe to remove any air bubbles. Pressure up again and repeat until there are no more bubbles. Whilst operating the brake. I always push a bit more fluid in under a bit of pressure then remove and fit the bleed nipple. Be prepared for a bit of fluid to escape whilst doing this. Oh and it's always best to remove the air trapped in the fluid first by locking off the hose on the syringe and pulling back on the plunger, do this a number if times as this will work out the air that has inggressed into the fluid. You'll be surprised how much will work it's way out. Remove all the air. When done pump the brakes a few times and adjust the lever to desired reach. Perfectly working and powerful Code brakes. Enjoy 👌👍

I’d replace the Forx crank-it’s prone to snapping. I’ve seen multiple cases, even on small jumps or sprints, and it’s only a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt.
@anthonynazzal19582 күн бұрын
Others who reviewed the bike say the frame is pretty flexy, worse so even than the older carbon Orbea rise. What’s your take on that topic ? Since you ride it really hard, even though you’re not a big guy, I would assume you would notice it if it were an issue. Just curious because some say flexy others say not so

Hi Will, fellow headset routing hater, could I ask, as it's so light, how you find pedalling the amflow over the 15mph limit? I know it was easy to derestrict before the update locked the region selection, so now you have to use a vpn set to New Zealand then pair with the bike, as they don't have any restrictions over there, which I wasn't aware of. I appreciate your unbiased views too and your fod vid was great. All the best

I got the silver one and changed everything on it bar the shock, still trying to find a decent coil option but might upgrade to the factory float X instead!? You get a different stem on the 6k one, changed it out for a Hope one anyway! I had most of the parts already and planned to upgrade it, I didn’t just buy the 6K one then spent a fortune on parts!🤑 Might look at some E13 wheels with the new side kick hubs this year!?🤔 not in any rush, the wheels seem ok. Tyres will probably be the next thing to change the back tyre isn’t the best but I’ll run them until they wear out or puncture then stick some DH/Enduro casing ones on.

A motor rattle is normal for most e-bikes, it is just the metal gears inside. Most motors have a small amount of tolerance between the gears and they rattle. However, I believe e-bike motor manufacturers are improving and making the tolerances tighter.

I have always the exact opposite with the magura breaks. They are dead silent until I don't break, then the rotor starts to make absolutely annoying high-pitch noises created by the rotor when it starts to vibrate by tiny micro-rubbs against the break pads...

Love the bike , but looking at in the shop and cant help but think alot of the kit that DJI have made just looks cheap and for the money at least here is Aus 13k, id rather have known braded kit and not have to go out and spend an amount of cash on making it hard rideable, think I'll wait for a 3rd emtb once the DJI drive units make their way into a braded bike, but overall its super impressive.

On a 10K bike, you shouldn't have to change stuff like brakes or stem clamp. Thats just poor and stuff like this is why i haven't jumped in and got one yet......Ive also seen videos where water gets in around the touch screen as there is no rubber seal it just sits flush in the frame? See how these bikes fair after a year or so before I spend this kinda money on an EMTB....

You could find someone that has rattle with any motor manufacturer out there. Making a decision based on one video, especially considering it's a pre-production unit isn't the wisest way to make a decision. It's worth noting that I don't own one of these bikes. Not trying to defend any brand. Just noting the flawed logic. I searched 'rattle' on the page and the vast majority of users say they have no rattle.
