Such a compelling walking through of his apartment.. this is the Japanese culture which has rubbed off on him. In Japan if you throw any big stuff like bed, cupboard, table or chair you have to pay money to Janitor and it's quite expensive. That's why mostly people in japan if wanted to change new stuff, they will give old one to somebody for free rather than throw. And the people who wan't that old stuff have to collect it by their own.
