8:40 Regarding the Freedom Trucker Convoy, I happen to live in Ottawa - the city in which it took place. The truckers were just protesting masks, after all, most truckers spend the majority of the time alone in their truck. They were protesting getting poked. After almost 2 years of the truckers driving around, keeping the economy somewhat functional, the Canadian gov't decided that they wanted to force the truckers to get the shot (they had already forced all federal gov't employees to get the shot). The truckers had enough and came to Ottawa (the capital) and parked all throughout downtown. But it was the most festive, peaceful and non aggressive protest ever. In fact, the crime rate in the area went down during the 3 week protest. In response, the Canadian gov't froze many of their bank accounts temporarily and suspended their drivers licenses, along with calling them racist, sexist, extremists, etc...

The convoy wasn't just about masks we couldn't order food inside a truck stop and our trucks are too big to order through drive thru we needed showers and do laundry and everything else everyone takes for granted... imagine turtle heading a hot pocket and couldn't go inside because there's a 5 person limit inside and you're #7 in line outside... and look at freight rates and over regulation and not enough parking for us truck drivers that's what the convoy was about #supporttruckers
