I always start on Amazon but their search engine is not great. If i cant find what i need easy, i switch to ebay.

The older John Deere's pre-2000's, are way better built. The stuff they make now is garbage. Most everything is made out of cheap plastic. You can still get a quality machine. But it will cost a pretty penny. The 'premium' 500 -700 X series. But I can't give a stamp of approval for the X300 series. Their just 'average' at best. Big box store grade.

10:57.... So where does the Parking Brake Spring go exactly? I've got the same loose spring found problem

I never did find out. There was that, and one other little issue left when a guy just had to own it. I sent the spring with it and made him a good deal on the machine, and he is thrilled with it.

@@GlennsSpeedShop Thanks for the reply. Figured it out at 11:01 of your video the spring goes behind the 3/4 dia black rod running left to right and hooks under the bottom of the locking bracket that you see at 45 degrees under the Black rod. It then is stretched up to that Black Angle bracket to the right that has a small hole in it about 1" up from the bottom. This spring makes sure to hold the Locking Rod up to fully Disengage the Parking brake when not applied.
