@@cristianguzmantamayo4904 ❤❤ that’s what it’s all about.. as long as you’re happy with your life and how much you make, who cares! And for those who are not, instead of hating on other’s success find something that will take you out of poverty. Because thinking like that is a poor mindset and hating on other’s success will keep you in poverty. You can have all the riches in the world and still have a poor mindset… Be blessed & spread love and light ✨❤️🦋

You have been my inspiration Chris. I was an engineer in a manufacturing industry and it went very toxic environment. I took a full stack web dev bootcamp last May 2022. On August 2022, when I was on the mid of React (last section of the course), I tried to apply for a Full Stack Dev Role and got the job. Coding is fun and I was so happy with it and felt that it was like a hobby. I believe that if we really love what we are doing along the process, we can achieve our goals. From Manufacturing QA Engineer to Full Stack Web Developer.

I'm going to become a web developer, fuck it. Thank you for always having your heart in the right place, Chris. Time for me to put down the video games.

It's interesting watching this because I was following you from the tail end of your time at your first company until now and I saw literally every video up to this point. You were still fairly instrumental in keeping me motivated to continue learning and sticking to coding so thanks for that. My roommate who was a Senior Engineer at the time convinced me to get started. I'm glad I got to watch you every step along the way. I'm pretty salty I didn't start documenting as early as I should have. But, I've finally posted a few shorts. Medium form content coming soon. 8:30 was a really smart move to reject that offer tbh

I am having trouble finding work because I have a record from a few years ago despite being wildly skilled. I have technical breadth, and depth. I'm currently learning Rust, because a local company told me that they would give me a chance despite my record. The interviewer had no interest in being at the interview, it was actually kind of demoralizing. (Kind of fucked up, when they told me, "we are willing to look past your record because we REALLY need a good Rust/Go developer"). My recruiter told me it was the introductory interview, with a technical person who spoke programming. I was eager to ask how they were using Rust & Go in their company, and to learn more about the team of devs. But before I could attend the interview, I had to fill out a weird "before interview form". It asked, did I have a record? I told the facts, got the interview, only to find out they were doing some weird "probing" type interview because of my background. The worst part is, I've always worked 5x harder, smarter than anyone I know. Every job I've ever had, every class I took, I was the absolute rockstar. But never did I know if I was actually going to get the job, just wild, wild amounts of commitment. Why? Two things. 1.) I knew from the get-go that I had to choose a field of study that I could be so good at, that they couldn't say no. 2.) Computer Science saved me from a drug addiction, and I have a huge dedication to it. Really bad, messed up situation right now though. Jobless for months after the last DeFi startup I worked at went out of work. Have been looking into starting a SaaS business. Hope is running thin, and I just hope I can stay strong enough until I get a job. My worst fear is dying without accomplishing my dreams of having a successful software engineer career. Teary-eyed. Thanks for always bringing mad inspiration, Chris. I often have to look towards other similar stories for inspiration, hope, to keep going.
