The first thing i noticed in the video was the mezuzah. I was also Jewish and reverted to Islam almost 3 decades ago. It cost me my family who told me that I was dead from that moment on and told me I should never ever contact them. Just to share a little bit of history and perhaps a pinch of motivation from this part of the Malay world ie Malay Archipelago (south east asia). The Malacca Muslim Empire was established in 1402 AD as the first south east asian muslim empire and lasted till 1511 - its capital was in the historic city of Malacca, Malaysia. In 1511 the portuguese armada under the fierce General Alfonso D’ Albuquerque attacked the Sultanate of Malacca for the very first time under their mission “Gold, Gospel & Glory”. One of their main agenda was to convert we, Muslims, to Christians which they never did. We sought the assistance of the Ottoman Empire in Istanbul but with little help (perhaps at the time the Ottomans were facing internal problems, wallahualam only Allah know best). The main assistance the Malaccan received were from their neighbors mainly from jihadists Acheh, Palembang, Celebes (all present day Indonesia) and our arab brothers from Hydramaut and Baghdad. The night before the portuguese bombardments / shellings from their canons - in the history books it was quoted our malay leaders used to motivate our forefathers stories such as Badar, Uhud and arabic poetries for inspiration. They fought hard but fell to the enemy superiority. The portuguese, the Dutch and then the British ruled our sacred country over 450 years but Alhamdulillah our iman can never be challenged. There’s a saying regarding our warriors / fighters on the fateful 1511 attacks - they will stand firm to honor Islam even if your limbs are bring torn apart. Till today we can see the grave of jihadists preserved in the city of Malacca and in one nearby island the graveyards of Arabs from Baghdad (some say they were wali) still been kept and under the management of the state museum.
