I’m new to your channel and subscriber. Thank you for sharing your story and diagnosis. I’m a stage 3B 16 years survivor and I can certainly relate to all the waiting in the beginning with all the coordination. It scary at first but things will get better. Wishing everyone who has been touched by cancer a wonderful day!

I was diagnosed triple negative breast cancer on Nov. 2020. It was shocking to know that. I got chemotherapy first then double mastectomy. The only thing I could advise to you is to be strong positive attitude do not faint, and if you believe in God hold on on the Lord He will give you strength and peace throughout your journey. This path is not easy but we went through. Keep positive and always with that smile no matter what. God bless you.

Just found your channel though I am very late to the “party”. I’m no stranger to breast cancer and was with my mom every step of her 5 year journey. She was first diagnosed at 53. I’m 41 now, had my first mammogram at 35 and it was normal though I have heterogeneously dense breasts which reduces the effectiveness of mammograms. I just had my 2nd mammogram (3D with tomosynthesis) last week (6 years after my first). Unfortunately I knew something was up when the tech said “hopefully it looks the same as it did before.” Sure enough, got the call back for a diagnostic spot compression with potential progression to ultrasound. I’m trying my best not to panic but it’s difficult, especially since I’ve watched this scene play out already with my mom.

I am 65, but when I was 46 I was also diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. HER2. It was also fast growing. I worked for the hospital so had annual mammograms every October during Breast month. In June I found a large lump. My choice was mastectomy and then chemo. Two years later I had my other breast removed for symmetric reasons. If I had to do it over, I would have had a bilateral mastectomy. I also was not scared. I don’t know why. I just went through it. FYI - I had no family hx. I wish you the best!! Faith in your healthcare team makes all the difference.

If you were HER 2 positive, then you did NOT have triple negative breast cancer, you had double negative. You were most likely treated with Herceptin, which will not work for this lady.

@@anglophils645 at this point I don’t remember other than at my diagnosis they didn’t have triple negative as the diagnosis. It had to have been HER receptor negative. At that time Tamoxifen was a maintenance drug and I couldn’t use it. My doctor told me after all my treatment it was triple negative.

This lady has both Ductal Carcinosarcoma in Situ, meaning it is still sitting in the milk ducts, has not made it out, and she has Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, that has made it out of the duct into her mammary tissue, and into her lymph node. A grade 3, triple negative breast cancer is the most aggressive type of breast cancer; she will need aggressive treatment. (Debi responding below, had double negative, not triple, as her cancer was HER 2 positive.). The good news is there are new treatments that are highly effective treatments for triple negative breast cancer. This type of breast cancer used to be basically a death sentence, if it had already made it into the patient’s lymph nodes, but it no longer is. We should all keep this young lady in our prayers, for a speedy recovery.

Thank you for posting this video. I had a lumpectomy 6 years ago - benign results. Yay! I have had annual mammograms since then with no abnormal results. After the 3D mammogram I had last week (I have dense tissue), the radiologist wants me to come back in 10 days for another mammogram and ultrasound. I’m super nervous, but hopeful. Thank you for talking about your experience so that I can go into this informed and empowered (I’m asking for my records!).

I think it is important for people to know not everyone can work through treatment. I had terrible anxiety that affected my sleep (not being able to) and eating (could not eat). I am retired but I 100% know I would not have been able to eat. You are right regarding food and products we put on our skin daily! Especially if you have estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. Xeno-estrogens are in a lot of products (makeup, shampoos, body lotions, conditioners) and must be avoided!

I was absolutely fine with the mammogram and even the biopsy. I was soooo convinced it was😢nothing more than an adenoma or non cancer. I went in by myself age 48 and wasn't till 2:30am in the morning, I woke up in pain from my breast in pain and the reality hit me. I googled everything, cried and looked over at my little one in bed near me. Waiting 2 weeks was the hardest thing. I had 6cm lobular and lymph nodes. I had an MRI with contrast. I was fine at the time but felt incredibly unwell and sick afterwards. It lasted for about 3 days. I had a full mastectomy and it turned out to be 12cm. I'm now waiting for a full body CT to work out what's next. I hope you're doing better now. Thank you for sharing xx

Shirley here, I just turned 73 had my yearly physical, I am in pretty good health, I quite smoking a year ago. I guess I am lucky to have never got cancer even if I did now I lived most of my life I would never go through treatment it's horrible. Maybe my hubby and I so far never got cancer because of our diet and a pretty good lifestyle. I told my primary care Dr that I do not want to spend my golden year with a calendar of X's Dr appointment here, one on this date and that date. Looking forward to that is so boring. I know so many people that had vreast cancer and went through all that treatment week after week and didn't make it.

I am bi-rad 4. Like you I feel I already know. I'm like you if I have this I just want it out. So thank you for sharing. Hopefully I'll be as strong as you. Just curious is it your left breast? I've read cancer tends to be in the left side. Mine is left side. Stay strong and fight. Be that winner. 😊

Should have your patient portal. You get MOST results before you talk to your doctor. Your fatigue was your body fighting the cancer growth and can't beat it, so it eventually joins the cancer and the fatigue goes away.

Birad 0 means needs evaluation, 1 means negative. Unfortunately I know because I had my first mammogram and got birad 0 on my right breast (I got brad 1 on my left breast which is clear) which means I need a diagnostic mammogram because they see something suspicious but they don’t have a previous mammogram to compare it to.
@amoremagicallife

Yes 0, means they can't tell and need to look further. weird how 1 is better than zero, but 2 is worse than 1. I was a 5, I knew right off it was going to get crazy fast.

I had to have a biopsy in a mammogram machine in 2011. The giant needle gets inserted into my boob and the machine shut off!!!!! I had blood everywhere, it was scary as you know what, then had an operation. All was clear, thank GOD! My grandmother died of breast cancer, her daughter, my aunt also was diagnosed with breast cancer, so it was just, over all, scary. Luckily, I was and am still fine…however, my brother was diagnosed with terminal kidney cancer in 2010, died in 2011. So, you never know when it comes to genetics.🙄

I went for a screening and I got this result. And it said: MAMMOGRAPHY BI-RADS: 0 Incomplete Need Additional Imaging Evaluation. BREAST COMPOSITION: The tissue of both breasts is heterogeneously dense (ACR Breast Composition Category C). This may lower the sensitivity of mammography. FINDINGS: There is an asymmetry in the right breast middle depth lateral region seen on the craniocaudal view only. And also I received a letter that stated this: Your recent mammogram performed on 7/8/2023 showed a questionable finding. The radiologist recommends a diagnostic I’m so confused. I have a diagnostic ultrasound and imagines to be done on Monday. Truthly, I’m concerned.

Wanted to clarify something regarding Bi-Rads. Bi-rads 0 means the don’t have enough information to render a score. Additional imaging is needed. bi-rads 0 is not an all clear and there is a possibility of cancer in up to 10% of people with this level. Bi-rads 1 means no findings of concern. Bi-Rads 2 means benign finding. Bi-rads 3 means probably benign finding. Bi-rads 4 is a finding suspicious of malignancy. Bi-rads 5 means it is likely cancer (98% of the time).
