Great video. I agree with most of your points and i wanted to add mine. Kpop stans love to talk about how idols should not be forced to under go plastic surgery but thay are also the first people to be making fun of an idol's face if they are not conventionally attractive.RM literally released two of the best MVs of the year and the only conversations I saw people were having about it was about him being "ugly" ( which he definitely isn't )

THIS! ik some say it jokingly but those people are literally just exposing themselves for being visual stans, only caring about those picture perfect aesthetics. and im afraid a huge chunk of the kpop community is only here, or fans of anyone, for aesthetics only. if they stopped looking cute, stans would stop hyping them up.

The criticism they get is very well deserved. It's not only the fact that they are untalented (they shouldn't even have debuted in my opinion because there's many other trainees much more talented and with a better attitude than any of them who didn't even have the opportunity....cough cough garam) but it's mainly that they are conceited, egotistical and arrogant. Even their whole concept of being "Fearless" fails them because they don't have a foundation to sustain themselves. And that foundation is THE talent. If they were a little bit more humble and grateful because they are privileged af instead of crying on camera....then the public would have a better view of them. But since their attitude is "People are so bad, they tell me I shouldn't be an idol because I don't know how to do anything 😢 Poor me" then the public rightfully dispises them.

@@itsmebitsh9856 im sorry for the rant, but your comment confused me. "I still don’t get why Stans care about idols body more than, the idols themselves. I mean yeah she’s skinny, but we don’t know WHY." what do you mean we care more about their bodies than the person? and you just said it yourself. shes skinny, we dont know why, and thats exactly WHY its concerning. in an industry like this, with stans behaving the way they do, it would be abnormal for these idols to NOT have body issues. she isnt just living her life without harming anyone, shes a popular public figure with a mostly young female audience, and whether she wants to or not, shes influencing them with every post that shows off her fragile figure. there are pictures of idols, and tons of them of rose and lisa specifically, in eating disorder forums as "inspiration", because to an anorexic their bodies are considered "perfect goals". ED's are selfharm. and im not a fan of her, but its nothing but human to look at her, reconigze that obviously this is NOT normal or healthy, and be concerned about this stranger. rose has been praised her whole career for being thin with a tiny waist, added to that her recent plastic surgeries, it wouldnt be a stretch to say that its messed with her self image, leading to whatever is happening now. no one should attack her obviously, but the "defensive" arguments ive seen fans make are just completely wild. if anything, to me, it seems like those fans dont care about her wellbeing at all, as long as their favorite doll, rose, just keeps looking pretty. they romanticize this which IS harmful. its way more humane to react to this with empathy and a healthy dose of concern.

I only disagree ith one of your points, and that is the one about not listening to a group's music because of their fans. I am black, and being a black k-pop stan is... tiring to say the least. There are at least a few groups that I refuse to interact with because of how their fandom reacted to a racism scandal, i.e. calling people slurs and saying that the trash is taking itself out when an idol is called out and fans are disappointed. In just about any other situation I'd think to seperate the fans from the artist but in k-pop I can't help but wonder what the idol did to create a fandom full of racists and/or what the fandom does that welcomes racism. I know that this is just a part of what k-pop is at this point, but I like to at least have a limit when it comes to what I'm willing to deal with and, for me, that ends when a large portion of a fandom becomes racist just to defend their fave. I guess it just taints the artist for me, so I keep the artist at an arms length at the very least.

I'm a Latin girl that has really tanned skin. I can understand this situation. V, RM were my ultimate bias, Wendy, Gisele etc I was so sad for their treatment and I'm talking for fans. Idols are humans they are making mistakes but why the people don't notice them and then the same people want to have a better world and treatment to their lives. If our idols are racist we really don't know because maybe it's truth they make a mistake without thinking, maybe some of them can control really themselves and don't express racism words etc but they are, maybe they love black. The difference is that fan are talking personally for black people.

I think most people stanning pre-debut groups are company stans or stans of an already established group under the same company. Like for the TXT example, I'm pretty sure more pre-debut stans were BTS fans. This mainly goes for big companies/successful older groups; smaller companies usually put out a lot of pre-debut content, sometimes months in ahead and even including music releases, which are probably what gets people's attention there.

And sometimes idols and celebrities send charity to people affected by conflicts or disasters but they are strictly humanitarian and should be viewed as that and not attached to political ideology...another thing I am very sure companies have strict control over what is allowed in social media by any idol ..... please leave them alone ...they love all their fans because fans make them very very rich and really don't care about their caste creed religion sexuality skin colour or any other characteristics.. period

@@EverRoxas no. you dont have to be a fan of anything unless you genuinely like it. but what i think the commenter meant was like when youtubers make compilations of, for example, best kpop songs of all time, bts should be on the list, whether you like them or not. for example, if someone were to make a video about best kpop song, they need to factor in things such as sales, streams, views, etc, not just personal opinion. so even if you personally dont like the song dynamite, it should still be included in these compilations, considering how it has a grammy nomination, most streamed kpop song on spotify, one of the most viewed kpop mvs, etc.

People will defend extreme levels of underweight signs and when their idol says they were forced to starve by eating ice a day to maintain that figure, they'll come yelling at the company for mistreating them. [Obviously shaming idols is not the answer. Neither am I defending the companies for forcing diets. Both problems exist. Can be discussed separately.] I'm not saying that every idol is forced to go on unhealthy diets, or isnt naturally like that. That certainly is a reach. But I see a common pattern in female idols of the industry, especially soloists like Somi, where whenever there's a comeback they go down in weight to a huge extent and the moment the cb era ends, they revert back to normal. This seems very "natural" isn't it. (And also on the topic, a lot of former ex-idols have spoken out about not getting their periods for years due to the weight and that's truly concerning. Not natural.)

kpop isn't only about talent, Beomhan was the funny relatable guy you can see in many other groups, he would've been the mood maker and stan attractor and people liked him because of that. I don't know if he actually has any singing/dancing talent, but he's definitely skilled in interacting with fans which is an important aspect in kpop. As for pre-debut groups, it depends. You named TXT, I don't think it's crazy if people decided to pay attention to the juniors of BTS. If someone debuts in a big company, it's unlikely for them to be completely untalented.

Nobody said they should be in every single video and every single conversation. Trust me, we don't want that either. However when there's videos you make about best rappers/dancers in kpop, put every single underrated to famous idol, varying across all ranges and styles, and the only ones you "miss out on" is bts, it feels weirdly personal towards bts. When the group is widely known for having ONE of the best rap lines in the industry (note: ONE of the best, not the best. Don't at me.), it is natural for their fans to expect a mention of their names in videos talking about/ranking best rappers in kpop. How is this an issue? I cant fathom taking something like that and make it so "deep" that its not an actual crime / offence, and people often act like idols dont a crime when they get cancelled.

Some Kpop stans live in a delusional world. they see their bias as perfect and refuse to let anyone point out facts. But yes, we look at Rosé and we can see her ribcage and that doesnt look healthy. The mere mention of which and people become very defensive on her behalf. We are concerned, and if someone we knew was going through similar physical changes- we ought to say or do something about it. At the end of the day, The Agency only cares about revenue that comes in. They see these idols not as people, but as products. They are trying to market their products to a wider audience and once the product shows signs of wear and tear, its time to move onto a newer model. The old model is obsolete. Its so sad that Kpop idols have the fans who actually care about them, and the Agency uses them and discards them when they have no value left. I appreciate your honesty. But I find him to be a funny and charming person, and I don’t think that his song not being very good warrants any sort of hate. I do understand you saying that people jumped on becoming his fan because he is more easily accessible, I do find that to sadly be true, but to be honest I still think that being a fan of him is understandable seeing his funny and charming personality (as stated earlier.) Amazing video and you definitly said so many things that needed to be said! I hope it reaches more people! Tho I kind of disagree with not stanning a group because of the fandom. Of course you are completely right, no one is forced to go on twitter and look up their shitposts. But for me I always kind of want to interact with a fandon, just to connect since that is for ne really what means to be in a fandom. That of course can be for anyone different. My example would be New Jeans and Bunnies (I think thats their name). Personally I have seen to many mean ones for no reason, bringing down other groups so New Jeans can shine which personally gives me a big ick. Yes not everyone is like that but the ones that are, are loud and everywhere in everyones business. Especially now with the "yeah New Jeans have such complicated footwork and choreographies while Babymonster dance like little kids *showing Chiquitas dancebreak in Forever*". It's simply not necessarily and the sentence would be fine without the last part. Yes, in any fandom there are rude people but Bunnies can't hold back which just doesn't make me comfortable being in that fandom. So I just kind of causual listen to New Jeans now❤

The only opinion i disagree with is #15, I think. In my opinion, it was very reasonable to call out Jin to do something when he was chosen as torchbearer. There was already an ongoing BDS campaign to ask torchbearers to speak out. One hashtag would’ve been more than enough of a statement. Will it stop that country from participating in the Olympics? No. But will it encourage other torchbearers to say something, or bring more attention to the war crimes, or make stans rethink how they’ve been acting? It could. And that counts for something.

8:44 this section reminds me of how suddenly kpop stans, of all companies and idols except orbits are against pirating. i say except orbits because it’s the only kpop boycott that’s ever worked and it worked because people made sure to pirate and to not just abstain out of nowhere, as to show support for the girls. the whole hybe/sm/jyp (hybe w scooter, sm with mcdonald’s and jyp being a zion himself) all would rather fight against each other and with fans of idols under the same company saying “why are we the only ones boycotting?” has been so stupid and made everything so unsuccessful. like, orbits were very willing to share tips on pirating songs and yt content that showcase or contain zionists working in them but no, there’s a weird superiority complex that comes along with having nothing to show for it. it shows just how big an ego kpop stans have failed with just a few years.

My bones hurt, i was lethargic and i overall was very unhealthy. It is a shame to make someone so stick thin and they try to call it healthy. Its why i quit modeling . And trying to make idols responsible for world issues is just ridiculous. Just because of their status doesn't mean they have the power to stop cruelty and wars. If thats the case we in America should insist Beyonce, Kendrick Lamar, and big stars to drop what there doing and take care of it if its that easy. We all need to do our part to help this world, not just big influencers. And stop hating on these poor people, idols are doing their job, nothing more nothing less. How would people like it if a bunch of folks showed up at their place of work or in their home and criticized every little thing they did. Wouldn't like it much would they? Not okay with that or Hybe's new thing with bt21 and Mcdonalds. I think the two might be related. To me, it seems like the company asked him to do that or something similar because that's a very random and un-tae like post to make. regardless, I'm disappointed and I'm seeing these company's massive efforts to try to scramble for public favor by using kpop idols.

@@SonyeonstanIt was a photo from 2022, he probably found the fries cute because of the size or he liked that there were 7 fries. I don't think he had any ulterior motives or that the company asked him to post them. tae usually posts random photos on his insta. Plus, he's in the army, he probably chose random photos from some outing he had, he posted them on Insta in the little time he had to check his phone, and he forgot about it. That he is receiving more hate than groups that have entire collaborations with the brand is another proof of the hypocrisy of the kpop stand and how they don't care about Palestine, the only want to feel morally superior by attacking artists who have nothing to do with the cause. The whole boycott against BTS is ridiculous and they have fallen so low as to say that they are worse than true Zionists because they have not "spoken" publicly or because they posted a photo from two years ago with a 1 dollar fries🤷🏻‍♀️

Tae posted a pic which was taken in 2022 even more before the war started or boycott and more people hate him cause he is from the biggest boy band in the world, the more successful artists the more they get hate but kpopies are always ready to hate BTS at any cost. @@JungmiKoru and from what i noticed, this is not hate against bts, but the fact that V posted it on his own willingness, unlike those other idols who are under contract, thats why he's getting more hate than others + he's literally one of the biggest idols out there, so many eyes are on him, like the bigger the group, the bigger the fanbase and the bigger the haters. But i dont think this situation is about "hate" but more about disappointment that someone so influential posted boycotted brand pic from two years ago + so many fans are bending their backs to protect him from his mistake. Like yeah, idols who have to work with those brands because of their contract can't really do anything about it, but V did that on his own, no contract, thats why people are upset, no?

Just a neutral opinion here, I just think Kpop stans kind of don't consider BTS as kpop anymore since they entered the global market. Their music also moved past the usual kpop feel. I think they got tired of everything revolving around BTS, like in award shows they used to sweep everything and other groups just became overlooked. Even in the Olympics, south korea was introduced with BTS name attached in the opening ceremony. Like they could've just used "Kpop" but they used BTS as the poster child. So I think other kpop stans are just tired of everyone using BTS as the representative of kpop even though kpop is a large pool of great artists.
