I'll be honest, this is getting old. I wish my tractor were more reliable, hopefully these are the last problems I run into, parts seem to take forever to get.

It is not a relief valve issue but rather the main control valve. It is an issue with one of the spools not closing all the way in the main control valve which allows hydraulic fluid to leak back into the tank and not hold the 3PH up as it should (as the 3PH cylinder looses fluid). You can use the slow motion control valve as you did as a work around (closing it fully) as it is downstream of the MCV before the tank so it can act as a plug (again as a temporary workaround). This issue is not only a Kioti issue. I had a TYM T264, and it had the same issue. I fixed it myself by removing the MCV and cleaning its spool bores out. Once I did that, it worked again as it should. TYM also sent me a new one, but I did not need it. The issue that can happen is that a small particle from the machining process can work its way to the MCV and cause a spool to not close as it should. Unfortunately, it is hard to catch this during inspections as it can manifest itself later. I do think these manufacturers could make it easier to get to the MCV and service it. That would be a huge help. The TYM T264 was not that difficult, but others are not as simple to do so.

A relief valve is for overpressure situations. It relieves excess pressure back to the reservoir.

Take the relief valve out and see if there's debris stuck in the seat. The dealer mechanic should check that before just replacing parts.

My kioti NX series is 2-years old and has 170 hours. It will not start so I have to pay 500 dollars for the dealer to come and get it. I can’t get it on the trailer to bring there. A big boo to that situation. Otherwise I like the tractor, but this starting issue is terrible with virtually no hours.

@MikeSouzaProjects

I've got to disagree with that claim. Most Kubota's require a break in service at 50 hours (engine oil & filter + hydraulic filters), a light service (mostly checking, cleaning and adjusting stuff) at 100 hours. Then a major service at 200 hours intervals (200hrs, 400hrs, 600hrs, etc...). I use my tractor to cut grass, blow snow, move dirt and firewood. I put about 40 hours a year on it. It took me more than a year to reach break in, then 5 years to reach my first major service.

Designed to fail. Raised on a farm and 50 years ago, old farmers would leave tractors sitting outside year round with just a can over the exhaust pipe. When they needed them they would start right up and run all day. Never even heard of them even changing the oil.

@@MowSowGrow3 Is that engine oil? What weight? I mostly run Cat equipment and they use 10 wt oil for hydraulics. I have a Kubota too and it requires it's own high dollar hyd oil, even thinner than 10 wt. Maybe your hydraulic oil is too heavy a viscosity? Winter would make it worse.
