That is awesome. First time I’ve ever heard one of these most houses in my area don’t have gate openers so its neat to see one run.

Like I said on the video, if you're not near it, you can't really hear it run. My gate makes most of the noise.

That's cool man! Good vid. Man I pass on those all the time. I maybe need to start installing these. Seem pretty simple to install.

Thanks! They're pretty straight forward to install and program. I had to add a little extra reinforcement because the lumber my fence builder used wasn't too great, but if I did it again, it'd be metal post and metal gate frame. That would help drastically.

Hi so you mentioned the lift master is a world better than your old GTO. So I was preparing to intall a GTO MM 360 because it's what I have right now, however I am concerned because everyone says it's not a good gate opener. In your experience do you think it can hold me over for a year or so and then will i be able to use the same mounting hole when I can get the lift master LA400? I have a 2x steal frame with light weight red wood panels 6ft tall 10 ft wide and a 4x4 post to mount to. Let me know thanks

Brooke Ashe Eesh, that’s a heavy gate. The 360 as I recall isn’t really meant for a gate like that. I’m not even sure my LA400 could be reliable on that heavy of a gate. I’m almost maxing what I can do with the LA400 because it’s a solid panel like yours, but the construction of mine is lighter with the wood frame. The GTO 4000XL I had was the top end swing gate motor from GTO/MightyMule, and the motor still packed up on mine. My gate is 12 feet wide and 6 feet tall. If yours is bigger, you might want to consider something like a CSW24UL. You’ll have to either have a concrete foundation for it to anchor to, or possibly put some steel posts in the ground to attach it to, but that would be a system that would keep you in service for a good long while. If you do go with a linear actuator type operator, be sure you have a positive stop at the open limit - basically something for the gate to run into and rest against, a positive stop at the close limit, and some sort of lock to hold the gate closed should the winds get heavy. Wind forcing the gate around can damage the screw-drive mechanism inside the arm of a GTO, MM, or LiftMaster LA type gate operator. The MM360 *MIGHT* get you by for a year on your big gate, but it wouldn’t be very happy about it.

Does the end lock work with the liftmaster? Or does it need its separate remote?
@TheGarageDoorGeek4 жыл бұрын
The end lock is actually a hold over from my old GTO/Pro. The LA400 has an onboard relay that can control either a solenoid lock like this, or a mag lock. This lock will work with any gate opener that has the capability of using a solenoid lock.
