It was a compelling series, and I hope it helps people gain a deeper understanding of Afghanistan, its people, culture, and history. I ask viewers not to compare Afghanistan to other countries, as it has just emerged from four decades of conflict. There is still much work to be done, provided other nations refrain from interfering and destabilizing the country. Afghanistan is rich in natural resources, and if extracted professionally, these could significantly boost the economy. However, the country faces challenges due to its geopolitical location and its valuable resources. We aspire to live in peace, foster mutual respect with all nations, and contribute to making the world a better place. Thank you.

The Sultan of the Seljuq dynasty, Ahmed Sanjar, built the first known shrine at this location. It was destroyed or hidden under earthen embankment during the invasion of Genghis Khan around 1220. In the 15th century, Timurid Sultan Husayn Bayqarah Mirza built the current Blue Mosque here.

❤❤❤❤❤ What is the history of Mazar e Sharif? The name Mazar-e-Sharif means "Noble Shrine". This name represents the Blue Mosque which is widely known to be the grave of Hazrat Ali (prophet Mohammad's son-in-law). The city and region became part of the Afghan Durrani Empire around 1750. Mazar-e Sharif remained peaceful for the next one hundred years.
