Happy Holidays! Christmas, originated as a Pagan Holiday,, is pretty much a day of indulgence and a promotion of consumerism. The dreadful winter of UK will easily put one in a depression on Christmas. Candy I suggest you to spend next Christmas in the Souhwest of US. Arizona is a nice place to soak up some sun, hike in the canyon, and have a picnic outdoor on Christmas.

Yes, Candy, I too hate the early dark wintry days - it affects my mood and I need sunshine to elevate my spirits. I also like to go to nice hotel bars while traveling solo, as you can meet people visiting the city from other places, as opposed to locals who may wish to keep within their circle of friends -- it really depends on the city. I recommend this hotel bar: The Connaught Carlos Place, Mayfair London W1K 2AL -- writers, filmmakers, artists and travelers like this spot. It's a bit too far to walk from your neighborhood, so it would be best to book an Uber/Taxi. Best wishes for the New Year, and may you find sunshine and friendly people and yummy food and good wine in your next destination. 🍾🍾🙏🙏🍷🍷☀☀
