Not denying that there is racism in Canada, but it is possible that by the time you arrived at the airport they have closed their luggage check in, so you could have still boarded the flight but not without your luggage, thats why his remarks regarding the luggage. For me I would arrive at the airport atleast 2 hrs before more if it is an international flight.

I have been working for 15 years at a place where almost 70% people are white, never I have faced racism, everyone is so respectful. i am working for airline so long , Airline always have some buffer time which they can use as per situation. Its totally depend on airport manager if they want. This guy has already done web check-in means he have boarding pass just he need to drop the baggage which is hardly 2 min work. But when staff is not convinced and helpful this thing happens. I have allowed people 10 min late, coz its rare cases and people don't get intentionally. it happens sometime due to hard circumstances.

I also working in airport 1 hrs rule is strict rule sir but India air india also changed timeing in check in counter closed in india 75 minutes before departure they saying you can go without checkin bag they are helping to you because you already online checked in only bags drops problems sir if you late coming to airport sir. Airlines also punished to staff many time if any staff checked in late coming passenger on counter

I flew Air Canada Business class two months ago and i was stopped by the person who was checking the ticket. He told me "Get in the line" and everyone was staring at me. I even said it loudly "Flying business mate" as there was a separate que for business. To be fair ,you have excess bagge.your hand carry is too big and you missed the flight ( every airline has their std-40) or more . And you expected the AC 'gora' as you said to be linent with you? If you have made the flight but your baggage was delayed ,you would again cause a scene of claiming delay baggage. On the contrary,the AC guy could have asked you sign a liability sort of form n send you baggage on next flight thru a rush tag.But seems you have taken it as racial issues than taking it logically

I rarely travel from Canada. I always take flights to India for myself, and even my parents from the US. New Delhi to Montreal round trip costs around 2500 to 3000 CAD from Air Canada while New Delhi to New York round trip on same date costs 900 to 1200 CAD. So I save 1300 x 2 = 2600 to 3000 CAD and my parents land in US and I pick them up.

In your case you did check in online BUT you probably had a bag that needed the check in desk. Unfortunately, that is never possible even in India.
