A year ago I actually moved to Kentucky from Brooklyn NY. Compared to NY, people are way nicer than us New Yorkers. Maybe it depends on the area. I'm in Northern KY, half hour from Cincinnati. As far as nothing to do...yeah, that's kind of true. At least compared to NYC, Kentucky is a boring wasteland. But then again for me "going out" is going to the range to shoot some guns. I rarely went out back in Brooklyn. So I'm not exactly missing any "fun". I do miss some sushi though. All the sushi places I've tried around here are trash. But good luck with the new place.

So I lived over in benton across the lakes from you when I realized that you were that close. I just moved back to Henderson where I'm from an now you are moving up here too. I also hated there not being anything to do if you didn't want to go to the lakes. Evansville has a lot more to do and there's Owensboro that has some decent barbecue to get your fix, (not moonlight)

I'm writing and designing a game set in Maysville, KY (Covington County), Oct. 31, 2010 (waning crescent moon). I assume whole swaths of the region are depressed and shaking from the real pandemic the US is facing: opioids. So, all that gets covered. I live in a depressed region in Massachusetts that has little political say and less economic output. I expect this to be the norm and growing trend, which prevents me from moving away.

I’m depressed myself and sometimes u think moving will make u feel better, but it might be short term and you’ll get sick of the new place also. Depends on person to person though. While Evansville is a good change from KY, I’ve felt a suburb or nearby to big city is a better idea. More things to do and people are also more cultured.

I see some disparaging comments about Kentucky. Well, I've traveled this country all over. I was told Kentucky was for losers etc... Poor, down trodden. Well, you are wrong. I've become quit wealthy In Kentucky. I moved there 20ish years ago. Most people are very friendly. They are guarded (i should say we, I am a proud Kentuckian) and wary if strangers. Once we you stick around and prove you are not a bad person, they will treat you like family. I earned 3 clinical degrees including last summer my Doctorate. I am a Nurse practitioner. My wife who isn't white btw co-owns a very nice sports pub with her sister that basically prints money. The Bengals going to the Super Bowl has really got that money printing press running overtime. I have fun in this state. Shooting my collection of 37 guns and more to buy. Got enough ammo to take on New York City (now that's a shite hole, been there twice, nasty mean people). I have several ATVs, side by sides and dirt bikes. I have ridden thousands upon thousands of miles. We also have more caves than any other state. I love caves, been through all the majors ones. The mountains are breath taking especially when you ride a dirt bike or ATV to the top. We have more to do obviously i just listed my favorite things. Kentucky is apart of me now. It feels like home and there is no place better than home. I along with many Kentuckians will defend this great state. We have some of the best trained militias. My militia has 12k plus abd growing. We see the changes some want everyone else to accept. No, we are not going to. We like how things are and even the poorest here do not want what some are selling. Being a farming state, and home of the best horse farms and cattle farms around, let's just say we can smell bullshite a mile away. If you come to Kentucky be polite. If you act like s typical New Yorker, just remember there's lots of places people get lost round these parts. Be respectful and you will be treated like family. Feed great food, entertained with live music after dinner, watching the sun set. Take care Y'all.
