First time i’ve ever actually seen a time traveller. He’s talking about a 2021 product… but filmed it in 1995!!

Great info. The question I was hoping to get answered is , what do you do if you overshoot and get, let's say, 9.4 or 10 DKH? I just stopped dosing altogether until it dropped. Stopped dosing for 4 days now.. My target is 9 DKH. So do I start dosing again when it drops to 9 or something like 8.8? DKH was dropping .1 to .2 per day. One day it dropped .4 Thanks for this informative video.

Pay NO mind to the why wear a gun bull. Better ask why not? I really appreciate you taking the time to spell this out for folks like me. I have a 140g Display and a 75g built with a 40g sump kit for obvious overflow protection in case of pump failure. Im rolling ALOT of rock not only in my display but in my sump as well with the intention of stability being paramount. I'm picking up what you are putting down dosage wise, however, my only question is, water changes and how that plays into our game. Specifically MY game. I will not be going hard coral. I will be softies and such so the whole PH AlK thing with the billion dollar lighting means squat to me. I run ViparSpectra ×3 and it is totally sufficient then some. Any info or knowledge my way is appreciated. Thank you. And keep training people how to shoot and be safe my friend.

For your case it might be more beneficial and cost effective to use a good quality salt brand to replace your calcium and alk, being that softies really don't use much of anything. They will still use small amount of magnesium, calcium and alk, but obviously at a much lower and slower rate than hard or LPS coral. I would invest in some lugals solution for iodine dosing as soft corals especially zoas/Pallys will benefit greatly from it. You can use all for reef to keep alk stable while also providing essential major and minor trace elements which are proven to be beneficial in growth and coloration. Or, you could used high quality salt mixes and water changes as mentioned above to maintain calcium, alk and magnesium. Then buy and dose trace major and minor elements separately, add luglas solution and also add some red sea AB+ for your amino acids and fatty acids. People often associate soft corals as easy or beginner, I on the other had would argue this and say that in some cases, certain softies are just as finicky as some sps. Over all I would say either option all for reef or high quality salt would be fine, then if you decide to really get the most out of your corals, play around with some of the mentioned opinions I stated in this response. Thank you for your support, your time and your feedback. I appreciate seeing another 2A enthusiast, this country needs more patriots. God bless and stay safe

Thanks for the video! Once you dial in the amount you need per day does water changes alter it much? I usually do monthly- every 2 month 40% changes

I see that in the ingredients AFR has copper in it. Would you say that this is save for inverts? It’s confusing because copper is a lethal weapon to inverts but I would have assumed that tropic Marin would have stated that so idk. Thanks

What about your Calcium and magnesium levels when you increase dosing to get your target kh, you probably are increasing Calcium and Magnesium as well !?
@CandyCoralAquatics2 жыл бұрын
They are affected by your alk, I forget all the chemistry involved I'll have to brush up on it but essentially the alk is what allows the corals to utilize the mag and calcium and the mag allows the coral to also consume calcium, it as lot of hand and hand type stuff
