I fish summer high temp days like its the dead of winter, really slow, bass don’t seem to want to chase, they literally want something dropped right in front of them, T-Rig big worms, drop shots, soft jerkbaits, finesse jigs

Hey Larry! I fishing kayak and boat bass tournaments and I recently switched up from hard baits to soft plastics and I have found the results for sure. Flukes super flukes craws and drop shots are my way to go right now

When it comes to tournament fishing you have to remember some basic rules. Dont stick to one brand, summer either slow finesse or deeper water techniques. Flip cover with either a pegged texas rig or a jig. Throw shakey heads and baits you can drag. Use those shads skip under those docks. But the main one is always go out and fish the areas youll be fishing in tournaments, learn where theres brush piles, rock piles and good docks. Figure out which side the fish like to be on, summer they tend to be just under the deepest end of a dock. After watching so many pros lately ive seen them go throw 20 or 30 lures and various techniques before finding a decent pattern they can fish. One thing i learned while i was a tournament guy is there is no planning a tournament day like you plan a fun fishing day lol. Sometimes what you think will work doesnt and you have to throw everything including the kitchen sink at them to find what they are bitting 😂.

Another rule as a tournament fisherman is never give up. Try downsizing the jig to a finesse jig. Always try various sizes of lures, they may be feeding on large bait or they may be feeding on fresh hatch baitfish which will be small.

Go out there with a magdraft freestyle for think cover and a glide for more snag proof areas. No more traditional tournament stuff oh and a spook heddon one knocker

Nice video larry I know you can do it have you tried a texas rig or a dropshot
Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Stop fishing what you want, slow down and figure out the patterns.

In the dog days of summer strictly beating the bank is a hard way to fish. I would suggest dragging a big 10"+ worm ,shaky head, or Carolina rig in 10-15' of water and see if you don't have some better luck. Don't get down and keep it going
