Hi Steve, I’ve just gone back and watched your previous video which I must say really made myself think about life in general. I’ve been a subscriber for about 4 years and I’ve also gone back and somehow that last video didn’t come to me even though I’ve selected all. Very strange. Anyhow, please don’t give up. As an Australian and when I’m playing with a certain group who have all subscribed to your channel we spend half of our rounds just talking about the awesome content you provide. Please keep it up as we won’t have much more to discuss. 👍😎❤️🇦🇺

I was lucky enough as a young kid in the 60s to have fallen in love with this most difficult master - golf. Golf was not cool then at all enabling me to get on the varsity team in 9th grade. I have no doubt you are the best instructor on youtube and probably one of the best KZbinr golfers.. The fact that your always playing in your videos is a proof you are not a chitty chatty teacher... the problem my mate is you are too far from most of us for a lesson... :D I enjoy soo much your content and will try to recommend all my partners your videos if that could contribute the channel to grow...

Hi Steve , sorry for the story to this reply but I just wanted to say it ... A little while back my wife died of cancer and having 3 kids and 11 grandkids who had lost their mum and nanny I gave up golf to be their for them . 4 months ago my son's and daughter said you need to play golf again and enjoy some me time , before my wife passed away I watched your vlogs all the time , there are so many golfing vlogs on KZbin I believe people get lost , so returning to golf I decided to go back to watching your coaching vlogs , I'm back to playing off 1 handicap again and that is down to your help and your fantastic teaching , Please keep going mate because to help one person to get his life back is all down to you ... I play twice a week now with my son , and I honestly believe this is down to you with all your hard work helping others with their passion and believe it or not our lives ... Don't ever stop your hard work and the way you put your teaching across Is superb , you are a Topman ..... Jules from Ipswich 🏌️⛳👍

Hi Jules, I’m extremely sorry to hear about your wife. Life can be hard at times. Great to hear your kids encouraged you back onto the golf course as golf is a great distraction from other things. Awesome video!! Incredible scenery and great golf course. Loved hole #13. U are so right about the trail forearm. I teach the same to my students the same but approach it a little different. I’m sure u agree that the golf swing and the set up is all about the angles. So in the set up for the trail forearm I would like to have the forearm parallel to the thigh and the bicep parallel to the spine angle. That creates a nice bent trail elbow with a good lower trail shoulder in the set up. I will have my students approach the ball with the club in the lead hand and set the club face square to the target, set their feet to the club face then have them take their trail hand to the outside of the lower thigh to place it on the grip and to make sure the trail forearm feels like it is parallel with the trail thigh. This really locks in the trail side knee, elbow and shoulder for a dynamic takeaway and proper hinging of the trail elbow. Just a little different from your approach but the same concept and importance in the role of the trail forearm. Great content.

The Glen looks absolutely beautiful. Bit of background from me - currently an ex-pat working out in Thailand. Come home every summer to Scotland to get as much golf as I can at my home club - that's the other one in North Berwick. Steve, as a gesture of appreciation for your hard work on the channel and hearing you would like to visit other courses round Scotland - the invite is open for you to enjoy a round at The West - my treat. I promise to stay well out the way of your camera should you wish to build an episode - believe me you wouldn't want my swing on film! Any golden nuggets over a dram afterwards would be most appreciated.

“Comparison is the theft of joy.” That’s an incredibly profound approach. Authenticity is something we’re lacking a lot of these days with individuals that have an influential position - politics, media, etc. alike. Cheers to you … and thank you for not just teaching me about golf, but now about being more genuine.

Steve - SO HAPPY you're staying onboard with us! Your instruction dovetails quite nicely with that of a couple other YT instructors (none of which have the initials "DM"!) that helped reshape my swing and my game . The right arm is a big piece to the puzzle and I always think of your setup before I hit my irons (reverse K), I love the compact and repeatable swing I now use, never have I hit irons more crisp. A tip of my cap, to you, sir! 🤟

Like your videos for a few reasons; I live on the East Coast of Scotland so I see you play courses that I’ve played so that’s fun. You play and coach at the same time so a win win from a viewing perspective. You tend to coach one thing at a time so it’s easier to follow and digest. In short, I’m glad you’re going to carry on making videos and one a week or a fortnight is just fine. 👍🏻

Hey Steve. Would love to see you play more golf - and especially in Scotland, of course. I think your plan sounds good. Keep the instruction coming and don't worry if you feel it might be a little repetitive, as you suggested in your last video. Revisiting concepts again and again is absolutely vital. I have been watching you for years, slowly getting better, and I broke 90 for the first time this week! As my golf evolves, lessons/tips that might not have meant much to me a year or two ago, have more meaning and relevance now. So keep it coming!

I’m really impressed by your honesty and also the really nice simple swing lessons. You have valuable content for sure! I think 1 video a week that has nice stuff in it, is good enough. Quality and being authentic to yourself will pay off. You are so lucky to have all of those wonderful courses to tell your story. In Northern Alabama USA, our overall course quality is pretty poor compared to other places I’ve lived, like Oregon for example. So first of all, be grateful for the golf you get to play, and the stories you get to tell. Cheers!
