These are made for the true art fans, that follow(ed😥) Virgil’s work more closely. He merged all he learned from his Nike collabs. It may even be a tribute or a last goodbye? It looks chaotic, gives the feeling of when people customize their own random Nikes to make them look like Off White collabs. They don’t look right, but they got the spirit. And the black and white colorways? It seems a lot like the beginning and then end. Just like in his last Louis Vuitton show, where instead of a bridal look, they opened with a black, funeral outfit. Virgil loved details and hints, if anything I said is bogus, he at least would love that this is what I see within these sneakers. Rest easy Virg!

I really enjoy this sneaker and the mystique it has. Virgil passed away before we were able to hear about this sneaker so we may never know the inspiration behind it. It’s definitely one of the most out there off-whites and I have to respect the man for it. It’s easily on my top 5 silhouettes that Virgil has designed

I like that Nike Swoosh the most on these, the way the text behind it goes hazy. That's a 3D Chess move right there Virgil played. The melted back of the sole, like that must've been crazy to do that at the factory. It's extra and so much work to do I bet. Virgil pushed Nike to go above and beyond on this one. Nike raising the price on all these basic shoes lately and this one was a corvette for the price of a corolla. Honestly Buckets reception to these were a bit better than I had guessed, but yall killed me with the 4 lol. It's from a place of love though so yall at least hit me softly with that haha

I don’t know if this is true, but it almost seems as it’s a mash up from all the other sneakers from Nike off-whites. Some materials and some features are clearly taken from older releases. I copped black and will probably not wear them, but love them as an “sculpture” for an ode to the Virgil era.

These shoes are not for ordinary people. And people with no fashion sense will absolutely dislike it. It is made to stand out and get out from normal style shoes. Like the 700 wave runners before. The people don’t like it then what now, everybody loves it. Keep in mind it is made by a fashion designer who breaks boundaries in traditional fashion and not to mention makes an art in everything he designed.

Some of the details are indicative of the original designs and purpose of the Air Force 1. The spikes were added because before they became a basketball/lifestyle sneaker they were intended to be hiking sneakers.

I got 2 pair of the blacks and 1 pair of whites. They're an acquired taste. Very interesting looking shoes. The spikes remind me of king Koopa or something. Holding on to these. Crazy because mid airforce 1s are trash but these aren't. I bet Virgil had Mario 3 on his mind when he designed these, the bricks for the box and the colors used makes me think of Mario 3,2, and 1 nes

These are art collector sneakers. Art is subjective. These were designed to be displayed. 40th anniversary AF1 designed by Vigil (One of his last designs) As a designer and collector I see the investment value. Daily drivers prob not but who wears OW as a daily driver anyway?
