Hey Shaelyn Love this video series and the thorough, very structured explanations. That's very insightful! Besides movement and balance, being a personal trainer I would also have been interested in the muscle strength/stamina of your left leg. Maybe a comparison between both legs with some exercises. For example, trying to stand up from the floor only using the left leg, maybe leg raises on the floor, or even something like single-legged squats. I think this would be very interesting, too :) But anyway, keep up your fantastic work!

I have a video that I posted months ago about what I do at the gym for leg day if that interests you! Unfortunately having paralysis, I don’t think I would be able to accomplish the things you mentioned - Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching :)

@@Shaelyn Thank you so much for your reply! I'm sorry that I had missed that earlier video. I watched it just now. That was exactly the type of video I had in mind. Wow, it's amazing what you're doing there, also with your left leg! Especially those calf raises and the split squats, too. So there definitely is a lot of strength and coordination there already as I can see! So you my single leg squats are already checked (as I meant split squats anyway) :-). And seeing your strength there, I'm sure that leg raises on the floor should be within reach, too - maybe not that far yet, but it would be a start :-)

So on your affected hip clicking you need to do some hip stabilizing exercises. I have one I do one of my physical therapists taught me that’s really simple. She called it Ts and Ls.

Its a pleasure to meet you. You are doing great! My stroke was 5 years ago. Same side. You give me hope to get out of this darn chair. My experiences are very much like yours. Especially rehab hospital. That was a very long year.

Hey, Thanks for sharing your story? Do you have a normal babinski sign on the other foot? Must have been interesting the first time the PT tried it if you are super ticklish on the feet?😂 You should get someone to test out each of your foot reflexes in a future video for comparison as don’t think you can test reflexes yourself? 😊 Keep making videos.👍🏻

I desperately wish I could get rid of my afo or ankle brace but my ankle rolls without one of those.

My ankle used to roll really badly without a brace too, it honestly still does when I do certain movements but Physio and practice walking with my AFO really helped me!

@@lifehacked86 Have you looked into other therapies like getting Botox? I feel like that really sped up the process for me to get out of my braces. Talk to your doctor about it:) it essentially took away my spasticity in my ankle and foot enough for me to accomplish new things in my physio sessions

@@Shaelyn I spoke with 1 neurologist about Botox for my foot and ankle because I have really annoying clonus they were supposed to set me up with a dr in my area that does it but we never heard anything about it after that.
