Interesting upload, thanks. I shop at my local LIDL for convenience only as I find the staff unfriendly. Obviously not all of them but a majority of them seem to think being friendly etc isn’t a job requirement. 👍

Indeed. When i was with Lidl i also felt like Customer Service or just being nice was not a requirement due to the amount of hours and labour given per store the stress and anxiety levels go up if people are not used to it. I personally got along with quite a lot of customers. Was always nice to have a "relationship" with the regulars. With that being said being rude is a choice.

I applied customer assistance at with the right CV but the next dayI get rejected, like what is issue, they say no experience no qualification needed what's the really issue?

Sorry, this is probably too late to reply unfortunately but depends on the area you are in. Unfortunately due to their salary being quite decent, they get loads of applicants of which at times they already have pretty good experience. I had to apply three times before I was even allowed to interview.

I am starting as a customer assistant next week for 20 hours. Any idea how they split the 20 hours?

@@tuhinpatra8147 If it's been more then a month usually means you didn't get through to the next stage unfortunately but, You can always email the recruitment department, their email comes (or it used to come) attached to the invitation for interview. Each region had its own email for example, Avonmouth region was "[e-mail]" but double check the email sent to yourself.

What are the main duties of a shift manger

Sorry, this is probably very late to reply but a Shift Manager basically runs the shift in general while an Assistant Manager tends to focus more on the back-of-house scenes like due diligence, orders, safe counting, etc. You'd be responsible for supervising the customer assistant, their breaks, allocating work, keeping the store full, deliveries being done and their respective backups and you'd be the first point of contact for any issues that may occur during the shift. Hopefully, that was somewhat clear :)
