Such discussions shed more light on why religion should play far from issues of sex, sexual orientation, gender and identity as well as sexuality in general. They butcher it and harm lots of people in the process.
@tshepozindela46183 жыл бұрын
I think sex and sexuality are a religious forte because of the deep impact they have on the soul. Biological phenomena however is a different story. The sooner we can separate biological Intersexuality from the act or practice of sexuality and see it for what it is a legitimate biological condition the clearer the role is for religion in this dialogue. Spiritual insight is important here too. Dimakatso knows her God and its her and her parent's faith in The God Of Jacob that has brought her to this depth of Ministry and Activism- That's what she said. So we definitely can't disregard the importance of religious perspective however controversial it might be. Inclusion of the wholeself is important in these matters.

For a good part of my pregnancy with him, it was believed that my son was intersexed and I recall medical staff telling us that we can "have it taken care of" shortly after birth. I remember thinking WTF - I'm not going to rush - why would we cut off/sew up before we know what they want?! As it turned out he was born with all male genitalia/XY but it was upside down and the urinary opening not on the penis- surgery was required for functioning, but nothing was added/removed (except a urethra which was too short to urinate healthily). I applaud this broadcast because I think the medical community and the law needs to prohibit/ban these elective surgeries on intersexed infants.

I think in the same way that parents should be careful to not make such irreversible decisions hastily, we should appreciate that they probably also do it because they think it'll make the child's life easier. This is the best podcast, I'll keep on coming. Please, some constructive criticism, please talk a little less and let the interviewee talk more. That would take it from 9/10 to 10/10!
