I love the Plotter too, especially the mini series. I customize the pages depending on my needs. Sometimes it acts as a wallet for my ID and receipts, and other times I just carry the pages. If I need to jot something down, I pull out a piece of paper, scribble a note, and clip it back in later. If it's useless after a few days, I just tear it out. I rarely check notes on my phone, but I flip through my paper notes when I’m bored. Writing by hand helps me focus more, though it might not be the same for everyone. As for the price, is $200 really a luxury these days? Some people just like nice things, but you could also go with something cheap and toss it when you're done-no big deal.

I have exactly the same set up I got last year :) Life changer. I always come up with best ideas when I am moving so it's great to have a wallet and a notebook in one in such a lovely format. I had to replace the Pilot Birdie with a Kaweco mini fountain pen because they kept getting caught in pockets causing them to break. Would have preferred a nice ball point but it's impossible to find something that fits into that lifter and is not too long. Really wish Plotter came to Europe and that the Mini 5 refills were easily available but Filofax ones work in a pinch and are much cheaper.

Over many years of me doing it myself wrong and using work place binders where everyone also 'opens' the binder pages wrong at the rings, not the 'ring opener' - the rings get out of alignment. Over time, a short video - perhaps mentioning how often you make page adjustments and 'the correct' way to open up the rings might be a point to add, and any 'repairs'/wear and tear reports. I like the idea of loose leaf papers, I have a number of notebooks that got to 80 percent used, so I like this concept. The fact that it is almost the size of a wallet is nice too. In another comment, I think you mentioned you have been using this for a while, so perhaps a year review when appropriate might be good.

I'd highly encourage you to look into being assessed; there are unbelievable mental benefits that come just with getting that diagnosis. For me, it was akin to having weight lifted off of my shoulders, and I was finally able to give myself grace rather than berating myself constantly. As for the Plotter...all of those paper/cardstock inserts can be made at home for pennies with a paper cutter and a hole punch, saving a ton of money in refills. Even the plastic things like page lifters and writing boards can be cut and punched from existing standard-size plastic page separators.

Many people have suggested I try different notebooks for different needs. But.. Keeping track of seperate things is not a strong point for me. Also, portability is an issue. The last two years I've been using a disc bound system in approximately A5 size. I love being able to move papers/inserts or add and remove as needed. It's currently a bit thick as I'm still customizing for my own personal needs. It seems to be an ever evolving process. Hello! Just discovered your channel and I'm amazed by the high quality of this video. Congratulations on your work and content, it's really cool! I'm an architect, I love notebooks and stationery, but I agree that sometimes written ideas need to be better grouped. I have a lot of notebooks and I don't always want to carry so many around just so I don't have a single chaotic one full of projects and drafts. My current hyper focus is these mini ring binders and I loved your system using the mini (or passport) model from Plotter. I live in Brazil, but even though I can't import a luxury item like that ($200 is almost a minimum wage here), I decided that I'm going to try to organize myself with an A6 binder and improvise these mini project management folders. The smart ring system is an inexpensive option vs Plotter. Look for 20 hole 26 hole binder to see the system. Maruman and Kokuyo both make lots of options. The big wins of binders vs notebooks is the ease of moving item to other notebooks. You can easily put in a modified A7 or A5 size into the B5 or A4 folders. Additionally if you get the hole punch you can do your own fold out pages if you are going down a size. Maruman has the A7 size which is great to sit below a keyboard or laptop. Their Giuris is very thin metal ringed binder. Limited in size but great to carry although it is not real leather. I may pull this ring systems and put into a Galen cover. I do like the plotters because they are a binder. I do use notebooks in Galen leather slim covers with great success but that is more journal vs work and study which binders excel at. I do plan to copy the binder folder they have that is such a great way to add privacy to pages simply. Binders are for those who feel they might mess up a notebook because pages are fixed order and makes repurposing a notebook a conundrum. Regardless use all your resources and enjoy them dont save them you can get more.

Got into DaVinci, Knox and Plotter (refills & accessories) while on Amazon Japan. While the plotter thin cover and 11 mm rings did entice me I still keep away due to prices. Being a stationary addict and newly interested in fountain pens got me broke 😭. I practiced with 11 mm rings with cheaper DaVinci version and seems workable along with my Remarkable 2. Hi there, First of all, great content! It is well-organized, and the videos are really well done. Congrats on your momentum in getting subscribers. I suspect, given enough time, your solution may run into some limitations, such as feeling like you don't have enough pages, not having everything available on hand, having to transcribe to another notebook, having too many pages of one type, inconvenience of sourcing refills, etc. A lot of these same issues also relate to the Traveler's Notebook. I think, for all of these reasons, the more convoluted (initially) approach of the Bullet Journal might make more sense!
@thebeefmami5 ай бұрын
@@han-shenyuan4058 sourcing refills is definitely the number one limitation, I'm starting to find solutions by buying a hole puncher so I can put any paper/accessories on it. As for transcribing, I mostly transfer it over to my apple notes when I have time and focus to sit down and expound on a thought from the notebook. My use case for the notebook is to write short ideas, thoughts, time log and to do list. It is meant for short term usage so the turn over of the pages are much quicker. I need it to be that way cause it helps me focus on the things I need to be done. Thank you so much, I appreciate such kind words! I hope to keep it going 😄

I was lured into watching this video by the 50-peso bill peeking through in the thumbnail, and I am definitely not disappointed. While I'm still debating with myself because of the Plotter's price, I love how the manner you used your mini is similar to my taste and needs. Having notes (and more!) in analogue makes it feel more concrete, so I get you when you said they anchor your thoughts. I've only recently considered using binder notes as a commonplace notebook as I initially thought they'd be a bother to reorganise, which in Plotter's price point I may be inclined to be strict about, sadly. (In which case, it will defeat the point of having a portable everything notebook-if I can't even write on it at will with the pressure of using the paper well.) It should've been intuitive but not until this video of yours did I realise I could just take a wallet-sized binder notes to replace my wallet. I think I'll try with a cheaper brand binder notes first to see if the binder system works for me. BTW, thanks for the well-presented vid. : ) I hope this endeavour of yours flourishes.

I see binder rings and immediately see broken pages, is the paper strong enough?

Paper is very much strong enough. If there are broken pages it's because of an error of mine attaching them

Do you find the edges of the metal backplate sharp
@thebeefmami4 ай бұрын
@@Juliaplans great question, I didn't manage to include this in my video but the edge of the backplate can leave marks on your skin if you've accidentally hit it. I haven't experienced it breaking skin but kinda uncomfortable in some moments. I wish they rounded the corners.
@Juliaplans4 ай бұрын
@@thebeefmami ouch. I heard someone else mention they were sharp.

I don’t think this kind of organization can help me (also because I love to have plenty of notebook, and I use a lot of online calendar) but it was a really nice video, I love your style of editing ! Thank, you’ve got a new subb !

i find that the plotter WAS JUST TOO SMALL. it fits in my pocket very well, its just that the page size suffered. My everyday carry is a lifetime leather Co. pocket notebook. its the perfect size, but it lacks the binder system and the huge variety of inserts (zipper bags and rulers and miscellaneous things) and only has a slit for cards and the notebook insert. I am able to stuff a couple cash bills in there though.
@thebeefmami4 ай бұрын
@@BrandonLeBlanc713 yea the size of the notebook is pretty small, it's definitely not for everyone 🥲

Why not just get a traveler’s notebook? Ora hobonichi weeks planner ? Both seem like they would be cheaper .

I was genuinely surprised when i saw that 100 peso bill, dude you're filipino?! Hahaha I'm also just curious if you use this as an everyday carry wallet? I also am interested in buying this notebook case and would like to know if its practical enough to be used as an everyday carry wallet even in the philippines which is heavily cash driven?
@thebeefmami5 ай бұрын
@@theanimeboy9953 hello powhz!! Yea I used it everyday as my wallet! It can hold a decent amount of cash and coins too but I like to limit it so it's not too bulky. I mostly do gcash/maya transactions and have cash just for when it's unavailable 😌

Meanwhile people in the comments are all worked up and haven’t even spent money. They’re getting mad for free 💀
