You've done a knockout job with this review; the back story of My Life Me's development is already familiar to me but it's nice to hear about it again, especially those plans to make it into a 'lifestyle brand' (I shudder at the thought of a reality where this was successful). Like you, I came across this show randomly about six-seven years ago (via another reviewer) and it has tormented me since. In the right hands this show could have been so much more. If the protagonists were rewritten into flawed yet likable characters, ditched Mr Towes' random accent thing, had different antagonists that were exaggerated mirrors of the gang's fatal flaws and an overarching narrative, it may be better than whatever the hell was slopped out instead. Also, I share your sentiments regarding Amelia's audition scene, it's a deeply uncomfortable bit. The jury's still out on whether it's worse than some of that fan art.

Thanks, I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad you liked the video. I've seen your My Life Me YTPs and I think they're pretty good. Your music choice in those videos is also pretty stellar. Yeah, this show sure was a mess, but it made for an interesting review subject. Part of me wonders if it had come out earlier, would it have been more popular? The writing would probably be more or less the same (that is to say not good) but it may of cultivated more of audience back when anime visuals were still somewhat of a novel concept in the west. But who knows? Maybe its for the best this show didnt take off. I shudder to think that it could've had a die-hard fandom making terrible fanart and fan fiction for it.

Since it was a pretty negative review, it felt fitting to upload it on the anniversary of the show's cancellation. Im happy that somebody actually knew and noticed the upload date ha.

Yeah, everyone in this show is awful to eachother. Blackmailing, manipulating, or even intentionally harming or humilating eachother just for laughs. Sandra could be fine at times, but when she's awful, she's AWFUL. The other three aren't any better because they can be as bad (if not worse) towards Sandra when she's not as awful herself. cough cough Cut Out The Sarcasm cough cough

i found this show around a year ago and decided to check it out just because it was some strange-looking obscure show i'd never heard of before...i honestly really like it, and i feel like it could've been more successful with their unique approaches to stylization and influences had they actually fleshed out the world and characters within it with that being said, it's really objectively not a good show 😭 like it's a fun watch, and the absurdity of the characters is hilarious sometimes, and i'll admit ive even drawn some fanart for it (NONE of the weirdo stuff i PROMISE), but there are so many obvious problems with it, from the writing to the animation, and then the overall failure of the show to meet all of those branding expectations you listed in the beginning, which i didn't even know existed until this video... it's honestly a shame that it didn't work out better imo, there's a lot i like about it, but there's about an equal number of things that are so poorly done about it 💀 it's a mess all around

You wanna watch an actual good western anime show? Watch Kappa Mikey, it's ten times better than this crap. But i gotta admit, if i have the choice to reboot My life Me, I'll rewrite EVERYTHING and improve the characters likability with more bigger budget animation and including every single point you made in this review.

The show's English title is... weird. In case you don't know, the show's original French title was 3 et moi (3 and me), which made MUCH more sense and flows much much better.

Nice don't see people talk about it much outside of /co/ and even that's rare, The show is available in good quality on peacock and a not as good but okay dvd rip came when someone found the dvd at a yard sale or some shit and before that it was partially lost media (in English)
