He was a very good player. His prime was at Everton, and he actually managed to get in the Premier League team of the season in 2006/07, at his peak. He was very unfortunate he had a couple of very serious injuries in the years after that while he was in the verge of breaking into the Spain national team. I really thought he was a great player at the time. Quite solid at Arsenal.

As someone who saw him play his whole career… yeah the first time I saw him play was for that very exciting PSG team…. You sound like you’re seriously downplaying his talent and career. He wasn’t Ronaldinho or Zidane but 99.9 percent of pros aren’t. He was an extremely good premier league player and captain of 2 clubs. He had Everton finishing top 6-8 consistently. No need to disrespect him as a player.
