My son is 3.5 years old, named Jordan and he’s super smart. He was just diagnosed with apraxia today, and I thank you for this video.

Hi Jordan.. I’m just curious if you also had other motor skill problems. My 3 year old son doesn’t have a definite diagnosis of Apraxia but his speech therapist who specializes in Apraxia is pretty sure he has it. He also has other motor skill problems like fine and gross motor skill delays.

I do have a few questions for you: did you ever notice any sensory issues as a child? Did you have any gross motor delays? Did your SLP do therapy that was specific to apraxia? My son has hypotonia so they are uncertain if the low tone or motor planning is getting in the way of him forming sounds. Maybe both.
