MyLiftstands are portable and great for people that don't have access to garage where they can install a Quickjack, Maxjax or Bendpak. @michael j Like I said, it was a joke, and was supposed to be taken light-heartedly. On a serious note though, it would be a lot more practical to jack it up on the frame or on the pinch-weld between the tires, and as close to the tires as possible. That way you can do stuff like transmissions, exhaust, fuel systems, and still would be able to remove your wheels to do brakes, steering, and suspension jobs as well. Not saying it wasn't a clever little build. Just kind of inefficient.

I agree with some people that they are not great for most common repairs, but I own a mobile auto repair business and I have been trying to get a set of these. He can't keep them in stock. One great use for them is pulling a transmission out on the ground or doing exhaust work. GREAT IDEA VERY WELL DONE - I don't get the negative comments, these do not replace jack stands! You would still use jack stands if you need to remove the wheel but these allow you to work on the car for chassis/exhaust/transmission etc. Jack stands could crush the sills if not properly placed and would be slower to then adjust the height. The suspension can surely be more trustworthy than a rusted out sill for example. I like also that the cars weight seems to be better distributed onto the floor and would probably feel more secure working underneath plus there are no jack stands (less obstruction) to get in the way when going underneath and scooting back out etc. It also appears that you could get the car higher off the ground than jack stands - certainly if jacking teh tyres you would need to make sure the handbrake (e-brake) is on and the car is in gear or park mode. I use drive up ramps but these only give around 9 inches of extra height and a few more inches is needed for good access. These make perfect sense people!!
@rick3438 жыл бұрын
I agree to many negative know it alls, when you have to work underneath, the more room the better, and jack stands do get in the way when you have to go back and forth, I don't think the nay sayers actually work on vehicles, they just like to pick apart other peoples ideas.

I was recently able to see the major use of these stands firsthand. For most DIY'ers, it might not be worth it unless you do extensive work underneath. I own a mobile auto repair business and was able to fully utilize a set of these recently. A gentleman and I used the set to pull a transmission out of an E350 work van. He bought a rebuilt unit and we were doing a straight swap. With the stands, we were able to do it in just a few hours and he paid me well for my time. Having a van fairly high and a transmission jack made that job easy. He may sell his set and I plan to buy them cheap also saving on shipping. It would have been far more difficult on jack stands because you would need to lift the van very high to compensate for the height of the transmission sitting on top of the jack and then you are still not lifting from the lowest point. My friend and I pulled a transmission out of a 2005 C240 4 Matic using jack stands and it was much tighter and made the job take longer. Fantastic Idea for the right people that can really profit from utilizing them.

This does require jacking up each corner twice. If there's a way to drive up onto the lift and still get a jack underneath it to lift the car higher, it would eliminate the double jacking. From the video, it seems to be more stable than jack stands. But it sure beats spending several $1,000 to install a hydraulic lift system. This would probably be most beneficial if you must have the car on the lift for a few days for something like transmission/clutch work or exhaust system work. Obviously not for suspension work.

Just for extra precaution, I put all four tires under the car when I'm working under it. This method Worked beautifully on a 2007 Toyota Avalon that needed an oil line replacement. Had to take the passenger wheel off to get to a couple bolts. These stands would have hindered that repair.

nice! I gota Saleen, and just love when the car is up on a proper lift. I dont like particularly jacking the car up too high with a single jack, thinking ill damage something of even blow a few welds which did happen once 'heard a loud metalic pop. so getting the car up evenly is important.

Whats the max weight on them I like working on old cars they're more heavier than these brand new cars and these would be cool to use on some of my projects

also needs dips in the stands to make it safe from rolling issues...

You can easily make your own with just wood lmao

I would be interested in knowing who taught you your wood welding skills, if you think the device above, could be replicated with lumber. P.S. Think about a block of wood, your head for example, and then watch the video again.

i hope this product works out for you. seems amazing as far as i'm concerned. all i care about is safety though. had a friend crushed and killed by a car when it jumped off of his jackstands. if you end up producing and selling these (at a reasonable price) I'll definitely be a customer

$1,200.00 you can buy an hydraulic lift. No floor jack required.
@etamfg5034 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic ramps are great, except not everyone has a garage. MyLiftStands lift about as high as Quickjacks but they're easier to bring to the car wherever the car is, be it in the garage, driveway, race track, or your buddy's house.

That is freaking awesome. I own a Mobile Repair business and this would be great for dropping a transmission, transfer case or exhaust work. With that height, it opens up a world of possibilities.

This is a great idea and I am purchasing a set of lifts soon. These will be great for checking / cleaning my fuel filter, changing oil and filter, cleaning the undercarriage and wiping down the exhaust. For tire rotations and wheel cleanings I would just jack the car up the conventional way. This is totally worth it for those that don't have room for a full blown lift and is cheaper than race ramps. Driving on those ramps can be tricky with lowered cars as well. Race Ramps are great but just too expensive.

chi town it took long cause he doesn’t know how to lift two wheels at the same time and save half the time. Simply by using the middle of the frame. I’m sure he doesn’t know much about cars either

wow, you sure can get the car up nice and high like that. I wish i had those earlier today when I was working on my focus, I was all cramped up under it, with my jackstands extended all the way up.

Or you could just jack it up by the cross members so you don't have to jack four times, and then just use jack stands because they're cheap and you can take the wheels off. It's a nice idea m8 but I just don't see the need for it

I think that these are nifty for people who do not feel comfortable taking off their wheels. This is a nice alternative to driving up on ramps and gives more access. I myself, do take the wheels off so I would just buy jack stands.

Rhino Ramps $40.00 at walmart. You're welcome.
@etamfg5034 жыл бұрын
Rhino ramps are great! But they give only about 7" lift under the tires. The MyLiftStands gives up to 14" under the tires. And you can use 4 MyLiftStands to level out the car when it's in the air.
