Could you also put those under the rocker panel/under lift points with some suitable soft material and lift the car? Now I have a QuickJack -lift but I am wondering if there are product which had four independent lift-units which could be operated with the same hydraulic unit...1/2/3/all 4 at the time.

Quickjacks are great! But they don't provide the full side access like you get with the MyLiftStands. I agree with some people that they are not great for most common repairs, but I own a mobile auto repair business and I have been trying to get a set of these. He can't keep them in stock. One great use for them is pulling a transmission out on the ground or doing exhaust work. Also you are lifting from the lowest point of the car so that automatically gives you an additional 5+(depending on car or truck) inches than using any jack stand because those are placed at a much higher point.

@1234 It was a joke in reference to the fact that he jacked it up by the tire. If you can't remove the tire, you can't do brakes.
@andyhoughtaling63194 жыл бұрын
@michael j Like I said, it was a joke, and was supposed to be taken light-heartedly. On a serious note though, it would be a lot more practical to jack it up on the frame or on the pinch-weld between the tires, and as close to the tires as possible. That way you can do stuff like transmissions, exhaust, fuel systems, and still would be able to remove your wheels to do brakes, steering, and suspension jobs as well. Not saying it wasn't a clever little build. Just kind of inefficient.

Quickjacks are great! Different tools for different applications. MyLiftstands are portable and great for people that don't have access to garage where they can install a Quickjack, Maxjax or Bendpak. MyLiftstand wheel cribs give up to 24" of clearance like Quickjacks, but you have full side access with the MyLiftstands. But hopefully, we can get the pricing down to $300-$400 for a set in a few years when sales volume goes up.

i really want some, what better thing for the weight of the car to be on than its own suspension?
@cmcquaigue8 жыл бұрын
GREAT IDEA VERY WELL DONE - I don't get the negative comments, these do not replace jack stands! You would still use jack stands if you need to remove the wheel but these allow you to work on the car for chassis/exhaust/transmission etc. Jack stands could crush the sills if not properly placed and would be slower to then adjust the height. The suspension can surely be more trustworthy than a rusted out sill for example. I like also that the cars weight seems to be better distributed onto the floor and would probably feel more secure working underneath plus there are no jack stands (less obstruction) to get in the way when going underneath and scooting back out etc. It also appears that you could get the car higher off the ground than jack stands - certainly if jacking teh tyres you would need to make sure the handbrake (e-brake) is on and the car is in gear or park mode. I use drive up ramps but these only give around 9 inches of extra height and a few more inches is needed for good access. These make perfect sense people!!
@rick3438 жыл бұрын
I agree to many negative know it alls, when you have to work underneath, the more room the better, and jack stands do get in the way when you have to go back and forth, I don't think the nay sayers actually work on vehicles, they just like to pick apart other peoples ideas.

I was recently able to see the major use of these stands firsthand. For most DIY'ers, it might not be worth it unless you do extensive work underneath. I own a mobile auto repair business and was able to fully utilize a set of these recently. A gentleman and I used the set to pull a transmission out of an E350 work van. He bought a rebuilt unit and we were doing a straight swap. With the stands, we were able to do it in just a few hours and he paid me well for my time. Having a van fairly high and a transmission jack made that job easy. He may sell his set and I plan to buy them cheap also saving on shipping. It would have been far more difficult on jack stands because you would need to lift the van very high to compensate for the height of the transmission sitting on top of the jack and then you are still not lifting from the lowest point. My friend and I pulled a transmission out of a 2005 C240 4 Matic using jack stands and it was much tighter and made the job take longer. Fantastic Idea for the right people that can really profit from utilizing them.

These are basically wheel cribs. Better for transmission, exhaust and restoration work. MyLiftStands can be used in tandem with tall jack stands. For example, if you have all 4 tires on MyLiftStands and you want to do suspension work, just lift the MyLiftStand up a little bit, put your tall jack stand at that corner, lower the car onto the jack stand, remove the MyLiftStand, do your suspension work, put the tire back on, swap out the jack stand with the MyLiftStand, and you will load your suspension immediately and can check the level.

@jaycarl15624 жыл бұрын
@David Stone the best way to jack up the car is using 4 high lift jack stands rated at 3.5 ton or more. The car is a lot higher than a normal jack stand but the high lift have a much wider base, making them safe to use. Just for extra precaution, I put all four tires under the car when I'm working under it. This method Worked beautifully on a 2007 Toyota Avalon that needed an oil line replacement. Had to take the passenger wheel off to get to a couple bolts. These stands would have hindered that repair.

Hope those pins are grade A hardware. 🤔🤔
@cdubu185 жыл бұрын
They are steel pin look to be cold rolled steel, they are thick but i feel like i wouldnt trust them not to shear after 5 or so years of heavy use.
@pilotedge12 жыл бұрын
Where did you get them?

Seems great for doing stuff under the car but any wheel work, suspension, brakes would not be good. I think I would prefer jack stands overall.
@TheSqeeek11 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think 90% of the time I'm under the car at least one wheel is off, but maybe that's just my current situation. This would be great for exhaust.

How can i do to buy one ?
@Crazywaffle51505 жыл бұрын
Id put jack stands under for extra safety.
@mds1986ms5 жыл бұрын
I mean why not just use regular jack stands period. They're just as sturdy and you can still get the wheels off.
@arnoldbaclig77095 жыл бұрын
I think this I idea you can use only when you take out the transmission or fuel pump and oil pan gasket...🤔🤔🤔
@mds1986ms5 жыл бұрын
@@arnoldbaclig7709 Thats what i mean. Its rather limited in its usefulness.

$1,200.00 you can buy an hydraulic lift. No floor jack required.
@etamfg5034 жыл бұрын
Hydraulic ramps are great, except not everyone has a garage. MyLiftStands lift about as high as Quickjacks but they're easier to bring to the car wherever the car is, be it in the garage, driveway, race track, or your buddy's house.
@outskirtscustoms10 жыл бұрын
Great idea but what is the price?
@adamtostado797 жыл бұрын
it takes to long just to lift the damned car up. ramps faster & safe.
@enriquemaxv5 жыл бұрын
chi town it took long cause he doesn’t know how to lift two wheels at the same time and save half the time. Simply by using the middle of the frame. I’m sure he doesn’t know much about cars either
@kevatnorthfield10 жыл бұрын
i saw this on a mates computer and what a brill idea it is and simple so i made a set - thanks for the idea
@kevatnorthfield10 жыл бұрын
one small improvement though after a good sideways tug - i didn't feel safe so made the bases wider now you can pull and tug on that difficult nut and the van is rock solid
