I'm American, and didn't know this channel was not, so when it said multi DAY coast to coast I was very confused about how fast this man was going. When I heard him start speaking this made a lot more sense but this is a great video!

8kg is really impressive! A lot of rucksacks weight 2kg when they're empty. I've just come back (early) from an attempt to walk The Ridgeway as I was carrying too much weight (18kg) and I was in pain for all of my first day. This video was very timely for me - thanks for sharing. :-)

You did good! 17lbs! That’s great.. sometimes I swear my day packs weigh that much 😜😜 lol .. I’m selfishly hoping that you filmed the coast to coast at least a little?? I really enjoy your camera work and editing and I’d love to see what you got. 😊 But, I also completely understand the need to NOT film sometimes and just immerse yourself into the experience.. so either way, yay you.. that’s a great thing to check off the ‘done’ list.. lol ATB ~Ruth

My recommendation for a replacement poncho is without a doubt: Wilderness Innovation here in the states mate. It is a poncho, a tarp, a hammock..you can even order a kit that turns it into a super shelter! They have the BEST bushcraft gear of ALL TIME. I do not know why they have not blown up. All American made and American sourced materials. Check them out. And they will be coming out with Dyneema products. Your welcome my brother!

A Fix . Nice lite pack. Well done. I can recommend the Anker 20100 2 port USB power pack. As well I have used Scotchguard outdoor water shield. I spray that on my tent seams and rain wear . Put on a coat hanger, outside spray seams ,then give entire garment a a good spray let dry. These may work for u. P. S. If u ever come hiking in Canada buy u a beer or 2 or 3.

I came across your KZbin channel while planning for the Coast to Coast in late April 2019. Great videos! I'm curious regarding the pace you walked. Do you have any estimates of your pace (mph) in the Lake District, the Dales and the Moors? I hope to complete it in 12 days. I'll be traveling light since I'l be staying in B&Bs, Inns or pubs. Any advice will be appreciated!

Nice kit video, I'll give you a tip for free on power banks. There is only one brand to trust and that's Anker. I've had mine for over three years and done nearly close to 1000 miles backpacking UK trail in all weathers and touch wood they have never let me down. I see you had problems with Snugpak. Over the years I used to buy a few good items from them like their special forces bivy bag etc but I have lost trust in them now after they sold me a so-called 100% silk sleeping bag liner that according to its own label was 60% cotton. They would not reply to email when I called them out so I would stay away from those lot too. I'm watching your coast to coast videos now...

Hi Haze, relatively new to your channel, just watching your South Downs Way adventure. You make your narration interesting with your humour and banter, "medic!". Quick question though, I've not heard about using Vaseline on the feet before, is it vastly effective or mildly effective? Also, does the compeed stick not do the same thing? Thanks in advance and keep 'em coming 👍🏻

@trytheoutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Dear Hazey I really hope you can reply. What did you replace the poncho with? You used a marmot windbreaker which must be breathable but when it rains, what light weight rain jacket / shell do you recommend? I think pit vents are the key to stop it becoming a sweat bag, don't you think? But some of the options out there are soooooo expensive!! I have watched this video many times and I learn something new each time. Thank you for all your efforts. Rgds Muhammad

Man I just came back from Cadair Idris via Llyn Cau (one night of camping at the lake), was a hell of a walk for me (unfit af), but my pack was 20.5 kg without water (I did have 3kg of camera gear, but still thats bloody abysmal). And my gf was even carrying the cookset and a couple of other bits. I just dont get what the hell I'm doing wrong, it's embarrassing... You didn't mention gas, I guess you needed quite a bit on that trip? Do you bring a spare canister if one fails or ends before you expect?
