It started off with him accepting her as his daughter so that he won't go to prison, but now he's grown attached to her he doesn't want to think of the possibility that she isn't his biologically. Besides he knows that Asu is irresponsible and wouldn't be able to look after her properly, especially with her sickness. All she does is stumble around town all day drunk and then goes home to drink some more. And Cemal is a psycho who is intent on setting up a trap for them to go to prison, he's not a good candidate for father either. It's either Demir or the children's home for Oyku.

Never fluttered by Turkish series productions ( am I the only critic ) ? , Asu , after abandoning her kid for all these years , Cemal steers her into avenues of laying claim to her . Am not a LAWYER neither am I expert in Children's Rights affairs , but she's got no legal backing to substantiate that and I don't know why , Mr Director/ Producer brot this about . And Demir and Ugur having been petty criminals , shd know this in advance ( most criminals are well versed in most segments of the law , they operate within it's confines and know which areas offer protection and sanctuary ) . I wonder why he's letting Asu/Cemal , take him for a ride
