I've been on the hunt recently trying to source films etc from the old days ..... thanks to Christopher Perry at Kaleidoscope I've managed to source a rare Colour Promo for Marmalade "My Little One" to add to my personal collection.
Shot in Hampstead Garden Suburb and Windsor Safari Park on a very bitter February day 1971. Although credited as a "Campbell/McAleese" (Dean Ford ) composition, this was predominately written by Dean about his new baby daughter Tracey.
I left the band about 3 weeks later. Ancient looking now, but kinda nice of the time - the audio is poor though ( sounds like the "film director" stuck a microphone up against an old scratchy Dansette record player speaker - hi tech stuff).
'Could've re-dubbed, but it's sort of charming, ... in it's way.
As the band personel had changed by the time My Little One was released, 'don't think this ever saw the light of day in terms of promo.
Definite last days of the original band.
Really lovely song in my opinion - UK Chart #15
Strings & cor anglais orchestrated by yours truly.
Hope you enjoy and it brings back some nice memories of a more gentle time - or was it?
