I love how the idea of asking Princess Celestia for more tickets never occurs to Twilight. Despite her being the Princess’ protégé and she and her friends being national heroes, the idea of calling on those connections for personal benefit is never considered for an instant.

"The Ticket Master" is one of the craziest season 1 episodes in my opinion, And it's also a somewhat relatable episode in terms of Twilight having trouble deciding on which of her friends to gift the extra ticket too. But the hijinks and shenanigans of the episode were always hilarious. And I especially love the Mane 6's gala fantasies!

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here, and say that the only pony who actually wanted to go FOR the party itself was Pinkie. Everyone else had other goals that distract them from the party (even if Applejack's is rather selfless). And spoilers for the Season 1 finale below: None of their plans really work out, but I feel that Applejack's plan was the most flawed, seeing as how she was trying to sell food at a catered event.

yeah i think aj was really hoping it would be better sales than it was. it makes sense cause she's not familiar with events like that. she seemed to know the least about the gala out of all of them. i do hear a lot of people say aj had the best reason though lol

Fun Fact: a Granny Smith apple is best not for eating fresh but for baking, such as in an apple pie --like her Cutie Mark!-- and to a degree in similarly cooked forms, for instance jam or apple cider, both of which she is shown to make in later episodes, or apple butter, which is similar to the name of a pony introduced in a much later episode.
