I really enjoyed the movie which makes the Netflix series all the more disappointing for me, visually speaking it looks fine, granted not as good looking as the movie but I'm sure the animators are working with a smaller budget compared to the movie, the problem for me is that writing feels more dumbed down compared to the movie and I'm hoping it'll improve as we get more episodes but I'm not holding my breathe.

Honestly, same. I know i might not be the age demographic but at the same time, it does reference things from G4 which mostly consists of a larger older audience. So I think saying it dumb down is justified.

I don't get the community garden rant when Queen Poppy out here doing the same

My main problem with it was that that's all that was to her. I know she wants to help her community but I guess I expected a little more complexity to her. Especially because of her father's implied death, her wanting to follow his example, an alicorn, seen as annoying in her community which was even shown in the movie. And like I mentioned, that community garden line kind of was weird to me since that was her main goal. Also, Queen Poppy? Did she do that in a Trollstopia episode? Not sure I quite get the reference.

@@thewingedunicorn5065 Yeah Trollstopia Poppy made a garden for all the tribes she did it to bring all the tribes together. But by time this happen it was super later in the shows run but Poppy and Sunny aren't any different Trolls are easy going more so there is a difference. But Sunny has to start each race simple Sunny doing her best to make sure the unity never goes away from each race. I do get the issue of wanting her to go over the moon with lore and world building but I think this is why we have Zipp to balance Sunny down to earth nature of having a simple community than a giant crystal table of world building and non pony creatures

Oh okay. That actually makes sense. But, if that's true, could it be possible that Sunny will be utilized more as a character that can reach their full potential then?

@@thewingedunicorn5065 I have a strong feeling in that I think time is on their side for that to be a growth for her but again its taking TIME. I know that sucks but you can't rush into that
