A discussion on how I've set up my own particular layout for playing my Shadow Knight and the various abilities of a 115 Live Server SK and how I used them. I go on too long, but there's so much to this class.

@@Twelvestrings I need help setting up my warrior for tanking. I started it when I was a 6yo. It was a free player account and I was always with my dad. I never really learned how to use it and now I have no idea where to start lmao

Watch the video comparing tank classes. That may help. I'll do a warrior specific video soon. What level is your warrior? Mine is 115 and that level range is where my knowledge is most current.

One piece of advice. Cascading Theft of Defense is so insanely good, so instead of running so many life taps, run your 3 highest ranks of Terror spells, and spam those to proc as many Cascading Defenses as possible, and time Thwart/Repudiate (disc #15) in between procs. You become an un-killable monster in most situations with that running, plus the Skin spell proc. :)

I have not played in a couple years (105 SK) - this is what I used for FD, other hotkeys. FD Key -- use Rigor first for chance at wiping aggro. /timer 150, /disc Repel Rk. II (or latest version of this - Thwart) /disc Rigor Mortis Rk. II (0.5s cast, 8-10% chance (based on rank) to wipe aggro, 15s reuse; make sure to use Rk. II as part of the command line so you get 9% chance) /alt activate 428 (Death Peace I-III, 1s to instant cast depends on rank) /disc Terminal Breath Rk. III (0.5s cast time, can heal you 30% chance or harm you 2% chance) (optional line 2: /alt activate 7756 (Death's Shadowy Effigy, change line 1 timer to 1200, 2 min reuse - this can be its own hotkey) HA Pull - (single pulling with FD/fade and stand). Fun stuff /timer 1210, /disc Repel Rk. II (or latest version of this) /pause 7, /alt act 826 (Encroaching Darkness) or /cast 6 Terror of Narus (6s reuse) /pause 2, /alt activate 9400 (Hate's Attraction 1m reuse) /pause 5, /alt activate 7756 - FD (Effigy) /pause 2, /stand

Reaver's Bargain is an incredible defensive. Not sure why you undersold it so hard :P It stacks with Mantle/Carapace/Guardian/etc, and pretty much every named mob in ToV+ hits harder than 25k. If you're an SK, learn to love Reaver's and understand the penalty. It's so good..

Sitting here watching your SK setup and just saw your response to my post on your enchanter setup. I double box mage/chanter, but can use my brothers sk. Although I am having trouble using him. So, since your here and responsive, I'd like to request you make a tanking video with the sk. I would love to see someone actually tank something, like a named, or 5-6 tov level mobs, simultaneously. I just keep dying really fast. Its not agro issues I face its actual tanking issues, and its not if I am focused, I seem fine focused. but I need to see how I can toggle to my mage and/or chanter to dish out my dps, w/o the sk dying. It only takes 5-6 seconds, but he drops during that time. Yet, I hear people saying they can go afk, or dont need a healer at all, whereas I have 2 merc healers. What combo would keep him alive tanking say, zlandicar, for 5-6 seconds, without my full attention...as I am boxing over to dps with the mage. Even just a weaker cov named like Pastileth, or miscreation would be awesome, so I can farm some ores. Can that be done?

I will put a video like this on my list. A lot depends on your gear. A well aged COV group geared SK should be able to handle anything in the group game. Let me know a bit about your gear and AA level. I need to update my SK setup anyway.

@@Twelvestrings He is pretty much cov t2 geared; blizzard and some equivalent drops, although he has a few cov t1, snowsqual. His AA's are not done by any means, but he has all the main stuff like AC, HP, AGI maxed. He has decent but not great augs. 360k hp, 8k AC. Epic. He is down a good bit of heroic AA, though.

@@Twelvestrings yea, technique would be great, I think my issue is I am a noob. I would be most grateful if I could see you tank a cov boss, like pastileth, or something. Just seeing what you are doing, your pace, etc, would be awesome, and I dont expect to see some God, yaknow just an idea.

I've had that problem. Four months too late seeing this comment! I have learned to slow down my button mash ever so slightly, but it's annoying. Not sure how to "stop it entirely."

Totally standard. You can change the size and color of your hot buttons. I didn't even realize it until a few years ago. I did a video on how to do it. Right click on the hot bar.

I tried to get back into live. But with guilds requiring hero as.s now. But not willing to go back and help with that old content. Oh well. And I'm not spending the next 6 months catching them up by myself. So oh well. Wish they would give them with auto grant but stay within 2 expansions previous to new expansion. So it still gives people initiative to still do the progression Ford but there's like 75 of each of them now it would take forever to go back and do all that crap by yourself and with Guild of acquiring it now to really raid ain't going to happen

I'd totally support autogranting some of the old heroic AAs, because I hate being forced to redo old content. I didn't realize some raid guilds require those now. I know my guild doesn't. Basically, we look for AAs, Epics if they're still relevant, and gear (in particular augs as that shows if you take your toon seriously), and then do you listen and are you willing to improve your skills if necessary. The real block to getting in a raid guild is are you willing to play a class they need? Mind you, with the amount of gear that rains down in ToV raids, you can equip an entire group of alts in raid gear, but you'll be raiding on the toon the guild needs most of the time. We just finished the first set of CoV raids (the only ones available to date) and we got them down all on our first try (yay doing those raids over and over in beta), so we're not a total slacker raid guild and we do not require heroic AAs.

i just made an SK and got him to 110, where did u got from 111 to 115 to level,??? what augs are u using ?? Are u in T1 armor (snowbound) or T2 armor ( icebound) I have a mix of gear, GMM nonvisible with ToV visible, but it seems I am low on hpts and AC, my hpts are 220,000 and my AC is 5712/2423 and I am constantly getting spanked to death, so I made a cleric and shaman to BOX with which seems to help a little bit, I look at other high ends SK on magelo to see what I am doing wrong can u list in order your buttons....white // yellow // brown // red from top to bottom I play on Povar

All of my augs are AC40+ and HDex for the Type5s. My SK has one piece of snowbound left and the rest is a mix of icebound and Velium Infused (the T3, tradeskill pieces). Yes, that's low. I leveled him from 111 to 115 in Overthere when soloing and Howling Stones. Then I put a group together and ground for a long time in Sathir's Tomb. Eastern Wastes once you get sufficient AA. My SK has about 70% of his AA done and all his defensive stuff. At 110, also try Temple of Droga or Chardok. As for listing all my buttons, let me give you a .jpg and then you can ask about specific ones, I'm always changing them a bit as I learn new things. i.imgur.com/O1hJCcr.jpg Also check out Rex Dolaorn's videos on KZbin (the SK ones). @@Twelvestrings, All of my augs are AC 65+ and Hagi for the main augs, and I went with Jade infused Velium Jewel for the type 5, I also went and bought Type 3 from everquest.allakhazam.com/db/npc.html?id=55559 I talked to a Raiding SK and went with snowbound > icebound > Velium Infused (the T3, tradeskill pieces). I will do Ros > TBL.> TOV progression from 111 to 115 in Then I put a group together and ground for a long time in Sathir's Tomb. Eastern Wastes once you get sufficient AA. I will look at all links, to see if I can get more out of video thanks, u SK is SUPERIOR TANKS and is often overlooked, but I am going to make mine GODLY

@@loosechange43 Your SK may be better geared than mine in a lot of cases. I'm still in like 45 to 80 AC augs (one 45, one 55, bunch of 60 to 80). I favor Heroic Dexterity, but I think Heroic Agility is better for a raid tank (from what I've read). But when I can get a +70 aug in Agility, Stamina, I'll go with what gives me the most bang for the buck. I'm still working on progression and he's got like 40K AA. My main tank was a warrior. I started the SK up and got him to 113, then abandoned him. I'm now bringing him up to scratch. I just did a TBL named and I'll put the video up. You'll see that while my SK wins, it's not a cakewalk.

Your hotkeys list a few spells I never have seen before; Thought leech ( where did u get this spell, and what level is it) Reapers bargain, I see Abhorrent Bargain at 114 ( where did u get this spell, and what level is it) the Orange set is your defense keys and Red is aggro???

@@loosechange43Thought Leach is an AA ability. Deals damage and returns a % of that as mana and endurance. Big chunk of mana, little bit of endurance. Reaver's Bargain is an AA, very situational defensive AA. Abhorrent Bargain is good when you're tanking multiple mobs and don't have to worry about chanter/bard mezzing or Shaman root. And yeah, I've set my orange as the background color for my defensive keys and Red are my aggro keys. I do the color coding as it helps me remember what bank of keys does what.
