Great build! Thank you for bringing up the gears! I completely agree. 4.88 w/33's is perfect for these trucks. I had my 21 OR done at ECGS last year and even they recommended 4.88 over 5.29. Love them and so glad I listened to the experts and not the forums.

A lot of trucks aren't meant to run 35s. Hell, my buddies 08 duramax can't even fit 35s without chopping & cutting. In the end it's all about purpose builds. 33s for a prerunner/trophy is great. I run 33x12.5s on my tacoma but I'm 100% doing 35s next. I know several dudes running 37s on stock gears with no complaints. But they're not jumping their setup or going fast offroad like you. Lol... all relative to the build my man. Sick setup though.

Question.. I’m installing some bilstein suspension into my Tacoma at about 2.5 inch lift, will I need some upgraded UCA, or no?

Yes, upgrading the uca is required if your adding lift, cause drooping the suspension with stock uca will damage the ball joint or whatever oem joint you have

What is the difference between this and when you had it mid travel maintenance wise? And daily driving

Daily driving is hinestly more fun hahaha but maintinence is about 1 time a month I lube everything up with the right oils like heim joint oil, wd40, cavity wax, steel it on scratches and oil changes every 4 months too but everytime I take it out I do maintinence right after and you have to torque check everything every time for safety

Long Travel is Suspension that allows you for more up and down travel for your suspension. A lot of modifications are required but it allows for a smoother ride and more travel on un even terrain

It is not designed to tow sadly. The hitch gets removed with legit long travel kits. You can tow with mid travel kits though all day

Why 4.88 over 5.29? Even nitro gears founder says 5.29 for even stock tacoma. Lots of overlanders that run 33s also do 5.29. Just wanted to know your reasoning or research.

So the rotations with a 5.29 is too aggressive and red lines for a 33. If overlanders have a lot of weight 5.29 helps but nitro told me not to go 5.29 as it also limits the top speed to about 87

With how much work you already put in, going 35s only makes sense. Plenty of gusseting and great fab work. Trimming for 35's is substantially simpler than what you have already built
