Those days of having 10 + dogs on the yard are over. Keep 3-4 max and you'll be aright while still getting to enjoy them. It's less of a burden and less over all stress anyway. You can still do a few breedings a year with a couple dogs and pay for their maintenance.

I got shut down back in 99 here in Houston with 14 adults and 42 puppies because I didn't have a breeder's license. That wasn't long after Louisiana being the last state making it illegal to roll dogs. I just gave the other 4 away and haven't touched a game dog since. Thinking about getting back into them but no illegal activity anymore, strictly hog hunting!
