I read this at the same time y'all did, though not with the group, and had a lot of fun with it! I liked all the Tam Lin and Beauty and the Beast riffs, and her incredibly angry sister was my boo. Nothing more objectionable in it for content than what we were all reading as teens in the '80s and '90s. Don't think I'll read the read the rest of the series, but glad to have got to this one.

If I had children, I would be THRILLED if they wanted to read so badly that they went to their school library and checked out books. I don't think I ever checked out a single book from the library in my high school. No matter the topic, reading helps people in so many ways. Comprehension, empathy, making speech and writing more articulate, etc. are all improved by reading. No librarian will stock books in a school library that are inappropriate for the age range that uses the library. They won't put ACOTAR in the elementary school library (Probably not even at junior high). I will never understand this stuff.
