I have had three copies of The Jazz Singer on DVD. One was the original…then my Son bought me the Anniversary Edition. Wore that one out and replaced it. Watching it never gets old!🔥❤️💎

Did you ever find the DVD? I don't know what country you're in I'm in Australia and purchased it easily on ebay.
@ThirdOfJune44446 ай бұрын
@@cathieh.7225 Yes, I found the DVD since my post 5 years ago. Thank you for asking; that is very kind of you. I actually bought 2 copies. One is still in pristine factory-sealed condition that I bought from a seller in Japan. And the other was from an American seller. I think it's a ripped or bootlegged copy that came in a movie poster printed on a DVD case. It's not the best quality, but still watchable. I'm very content overall. It's one of my all-time favourite movie soundtracks. I have the original soundtrack on CD as well. I used to have the soundtrack on cassette many years ago, but unfortunately, the tape ripped due to overplay. All my best wishes. Todd--from Canada

@@cathieh.7225 Thank you for sharing that. What was your favourite part in the movie? Mine was when his father was in the audience in the end and he was clapping to the performance of "Hey Louise". You knew right then & there he realized and approved of his son's stardom & career. That song is still my favourite one in the entire soundtrack. It's so energetic! I still listen to it all the time. 🙂

I think Olivier (and he was ONE of the greatest actors) was so miscast. I struggled to see and hear him sound like this Rabbi with a German accent and inflections reminiscent of Nazi Germany.
@jogman2623 жыл бұрын
He might have forgotten his Nazi accent from ‘Marathon Man’. “Eez it safe?
@tomservo752 жыл бұрын
@@reneeborovitch7585 That's what makes him the best. I didn't even know he was British until many years later. As someone who has known many old Jewish rabbis, Olivier NAILED it here. He did a similar accent and mannerism in a performance of Merchant of Venice.
