Hi I am really proud of your achievements. I am also thinking about changing my major to nursing and apply for associate degree. I live in nyc, do you have any recommended colleges I should go to? I hope you will reply ;)

I went through hell as a corrections nurse when I first started but they learned real quick I wasn’t the one by the time I was leaving everything was good..I’d def go back but that is where I realized I need to go back for my RN because we did the same thing and they made $15 more and I was training RNs with bachelor degrees

Omg seeing this late and yess in corrections you have to be super tough with the nurses or they will walk over you. Yess RNs can pay more and open doors!ou

Our stories are so similar! I hit my two-year anniversary of becoming an LPN this year, and I'm in semester 3/4 of RN school!! Retaking this semester since I failed last time, but now I got a 78% on my first test, 80% on my second!!! I'm doing so much better this time! So proud of you Kimmy!

I love how honest you are. I am a nontraditional nurse as well. I originally went into the animal medicine field as a veterinarian technician. I always loved animals. Then I wanted to go into Physical therapist assistant, but ended getting into the LPN program instead. I just love being able to help people in whatever capacity.

Wow! You have had quite the journey too! Yes I don’t regret my journey because at the end of the day at least I knew I tried my hand at whatever field i tried!- at the end of the day, that’s what truly counts!!

Hi Kimmy, I saw your video on correctional nursing. I did subscribed to your channel. I have been an RN for almost twenty four years. I had to work & go to nursing school. I also took my prerequisites first, then nursing classes alone. I have my associates degree. I am also from New York State. Can you address on your podcast, The American Nurses Association Racial Reckoning Statement? As you know New York State's BSN in 10 Law. Now we know that this law has a foundation in racism. The ANA lied about nurses needing a BSN. I am most upset that the BSN law still exists in NY, after the ANA's confession. As you know we'll all take one nursing boards for both degrees. It is a shame that this female dominated profession has to get into debt, when male dominated professions like police officers and firefighters don't even require a two year degree. This needs to change. Jada C. Beard, RN Google me. I am sorta of a big deal...not really but I am working on it.
