Just have it in mind that nanny will always f you up, even my junior sis staying with me just told me this Xmas that one's she's done with her school and weac, she's leaving. What i am trying to say is that both family and outsiders will always be there to gain what they want, and one's they're done getting what they want from you, they leave not minding if you still need them.

Concerning the nanny issue, get a replacement even before they leave for Christmas to avoid disappointment. I've found out that no matter what you do for them, they are never satisfied and always feel like they can get something better outside. I hope you get a good live-in before school resumes.
