This is the busy time for teaching (end of the school year). It might be a while before I get another video posted. My summer starts May 21st so I hope to have time after that to get a bunch of videos shot, edited, and posted. By the way I picked up the Canon RF 100-500 and it's amazing!!! Best lens I have ever owned...period.

It's a little ridiculous to think where I was about a year ago and compare it to where I am now. I know I don't really need all the new gear I have been getting to do the things I need to do, but I just can't help it. I've said it before and I'll say it again....I have a problem with spending money on things I want, but don't really need. But it is fun to have new things to play with. Take care Mark. Talk to you soon.

I use my M6 Mark II as my main camera and I absolutely love it!! I've been using it for a bout a yr now and just posted my 1st YT video last week, with my 2nd going up today or tomorrow!! I bought mine from bestbuy with the 3 yr protection plan so, I don't have to worry about going through canon and just take it to any best buy and they'll either give me a new one right there, or store credit for the full amount to get something else.... definitely the best way to go👍💯

Is there any danger of using the shoulder strap with a bigger EF lens? The EF adapter has a tripod mount so I'm wondering if the camera or adapter can handle the weight while carrying the camera on the strap.

HI Pete, subscriber and channel supporter here from Oz. I have an M6 mk II question and would be SO grateful if you could shed any light for me. I have researched and asked technical advice but no one can give me an solid answer. My question is: should a decent external mic (i have a Rode VideoMic Pro) be able to record audio EMI-free when the camera (M6 mkII) is powered by the AC wall adapter (the official Canon CA-PS700 with the Canon DR-E17 DC Coupler LPE17 Battery)? The reason I ask this is because the audio is fantastic(EMI-free) when I shoot with the camera battery inserted but when I have the camera powered by the AC wall adapter I always get an EMI buzz in the audio BG. Surely these mics are not solely designed to shoot on battery powered cameras only, or are they? Any advise or clarity on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time, Pete!

I have the same problem while using my Deity V-Mic D3 Pro. In my Top 5 accessories video a viewer (Bill Hillock) made a comment about using a Furman Power Conditioner or an HumX to solve the problem. I did not notice the hum until I put on headphones and re watched one of my videos using the Canon's DC Coupler. Full disclosure...I have not used the DC Coupler again when shooting a video and I did not get a Furman Power Conditioner or the HumX to see if it solved the problem. I have 5 extra batteries and use them while recording my videos. I still use the DC coupler while live steaming, but not when recording.

@@faspete2nd Thanks for your speedy response, Pete. Sounds to me like most of these on-camera shotgun mics are really only any good when the cameras are battery powered like you mentioned. Of course the manufacturer won't tell you this. Will give the the power conditioner some research and if it is a resolve I'll let you know. Thanks again for your help, buddy, you're a legend! 🙏

No money will be refunded. Canon just sent me a refurbished camera to replace the broken one that was not under warranty. I guess I could have just asked them to send the camera back without repairing it and I could have just lived with or managed the defective dial.
@iKaiFL
@iKaiFL 3 жыл бұрын
@@faspete2nd Hi Peter! Yes, you told that in your video. But, now you and I found out, that canon sold us a broken product. That‘s Not the Deal when you buy a new camera. So they broke the sale contract. (At least that means anything in Germany). So Canon has to fix that for free. If they repair your cam or give you a new camera...is theire choice. But they can not charge you extra costs when it is obvious that you didn‘t damage the camera. You can refere your argumentation on me and my commentary here. We do Not know us. I am from the north of Germany (Flensburg). So no one can claim, that we we arranged anything. I follow you here on youtube...saw your video and discovered that I have the same problem with my canon m6 mk II as you had.

Well...that's a good question. Color grading was fine, but I color graded it on my laptop (Dell XPS 17 9700) because it's the only device that is fast enough to handle the file size. The only problem with that is when I played it back on my desktop or TV the color did not look right even though I used the datacolor Spyder X to calibrate all my monitors. So I don't know if I did something wrong . Processing speed and the time it took to render and export the files took about 20min. for the 3min clip. I did some basic color correction and applied a Canon LUT to it. I expected it to be difficult and take a long time to process/render, but overall it was not bad. Prior to getting my laptop it took 5 hours to process a 10min 4k video on my desktop so I will take 20min any day. I don't think I will be doing it again for a talking head video because I don't need it for such a static low dynamic range scene in my studio. I will try it again when I am outside in the woods doing a vlog or taking video of wildlife. I have a lot to learn, but looking forward to it.

@@faspete2nd the colors depend on your other fevices, for example the s9 plus has 134% of sRGB is oversaturated, if you put in basic color the color is like 100% sRGB, in my television (LG 4k 50 HDR ) is like 118% and in my laptop is like 79%. And inclusive you claibrate all the devices, the colors are limited by the device
