no major issues in my m4 mac mini so far , but thing is with focusrite 4i4 interface that i use , i have to keep disconnecting it and reconnecting it each time. Seems more to do with Sequoia update ( Source : Focusrite Support )

If we had to guess...there's something ODD going on with the USB/Thunderbolt 5 bus. We'll plug in USB 2.0 devices that SHOULD work no problem, and the other devices already connected start freaking out. Disconnecting, audio drops outs. Haven't isolated the cause yet.

Man, you could say all the situation in 3 mins, now how can be possible that Antelope does not support your interface?? is not the Galaxy a new model??? call antelope and demand new drivers! this is why Lynx are the most rock solid interfaces

The galaxy is the new generation, mine is like 10 years old, basically like the old auroras, which are not supported either. Antelope just dropped support for it. Now they only support the generation right above mine 😓 that’s just the way things go, can expect to use the interface over 10 years, got a build it into the operational costs.

@@Itsjorgelanzas even old Aurora 16 are working great ….. but I think if you have Pro tools HDX even which a Mac mini M1 or M2 you are golden and you do not need the M4….. HDX is so much better and free your computers from playback/track count and more

I bought a Mac Mini M4 Pro 12 core a couple of days ago as i have moved from a Mac Mini 2018 i7 6core and so ive had no problems at all

Dude, your the only guy i listen to now online! im in the market for a new mac but evryone is only concerned with cinabench testing and davinci and crap like that. Im a Protools HDX owner as well but im scared to mac the jump to mac mini. Maybe we can talk if you have a miniute.

Man, just make sure you already have a thunderbolt interface, make sure that it’s supported and you should be fine. HDX gets picked up instantly, so there’s no problem on that front, but the interfaces, have taken the chance to take older products out of the market for good, and get you to buy their new stuff. That’s what it boils down to. What interface are you using??

i know what you mean. i have an apogee symphony mk 1.its not supported anymore and makes me scared to upgrade to another mac. still running intell i mac from 2017 with catalina.

I had dropout problems as well when setting up my m4 for music production. After replacing my usbc hub and the usbc for directly connecting the interface everthing runs very smooth now - but i guess thats too simple. Its a bit weird because both work perfectly fine on a windows machine I tested it with.

And when I 1st got the Mac Mini M4 Pro none of my plugins work and I've got about 20 plugins i need to download again but my main softube plugins all work fine and i needs to download all of my waves plugins again

That’s unfortunate mate , sadly in this day and age of computer everything, incompatibility with hardware and software as time goes on is always a problem. And it’s not just our computers, it’s everything, tvs , gaming machines , cars , half the time technology is really cool , the other half it is an absolute pain in the ass. Technology is a pain In the ass sometimes. Like when the old charger doesn’t fit the new phone. You upgrade one thing and then forced to upgrade stuff you didn’t want to. Side note, love the video editing. Had me rolling 🤣 at the “this is a video about a nightmare “voice. Enjoy the holidays bro. 🤘

I have to fully agree with your point on a new computer being worlds apart i just bought a new pc and Mac mini and both are so fast and so responsive. I got the pc for 4k editing with the rtx 4080 and the slightly upgraded model mac mini for some workflow stuff but man it was amazing. I did have the issue of some plugins not working on the mac but thats why I have the pc for that.

Si hombre, lo peor es que no hay ninguna opción que haga todo lo que hace ésta 😓😓 tiene que ser si o si, galaxy. O, perder la funcionalidad y encontrar un workaround para ahorrarme unos $3k…. Es una completa 💩 en el lado bueno, ese problema es muy particularmente mío, de no ser por eso, estaría volando!!!

If I have to buy new hardware because the old hardware does not work because of software support, then I will buy new hardware but *never ever* from that same manufacturer again. Having to throw away perfectly fine hardware because of lazy coders and stingy companies should be punishable by law. I know it's a different case if we're talking about some $20 thingy, but we aren't. Same goes for repairability. If I can't reasonably replace parts that go bad (or have them replaced) because of normal wear and tear, then I won't buy the computer, phone or whatever. I suppose the new Mac mini finally has a SSD that Apple can replace when it goes dark. Every SSD will die eventually and in heavy use that time can be only few months.

🤣🤣🤣 no es problema de rico, el rico solo lo paga y ya. Y ya no hay drivers, eso es lo que significa cuando una marca dice que algo es “not supported”. No se porque, pero hay algo que las nuevas Macs no se comunican bien a través de usb b 2. Tiene algo de sentido considerando que es un protocolo de 20 años de edad y toda la tecnología es diferente, pero bueno, ni modo. A trabajar duro para poder recuperar la inversión.

Vale yo pensaba que era por el tema de sistema operativo pero si dices que ya no van a sacar ni siquiera drivers ... pues otra razon mas de irte a RME y poder usar tu interfaz durante anos sin problemas como este ... a ver es que yo soy de esa secta Rmista a la que siempre le fue bien durante anos pero tus necesidades son probablemente diferentes tu eres el que mejor sabe. De todos modos te deseo mucho exito en tu musica y que arregles esos telares ;)

Oh Boy, that’s a huge issue. It reminds me of the switch from FireWire interfaces on apple to USB 2 audio protocol. But that was predictable which unit worked in tandem with in your system, really strange as I thought HDX is way more used system, it seems like it just on the the higher end tier list. Kinda disappointing that avid and the rest of hdx hardware companies left out the smaller studio budget friendly market at all. This is all avids fault as they lock their protocol and plug-in format exclusive and their fees ate outrageous joining their club. So the development of companies keeping their products in line have to put all these additional cost to their product line, meaning development will be slow or products will discontinued. If you stick to that hex system, you have to play their game, that will cost you a bunch, at least 3-6 k for such an interface that is working with the m4 chips. I’m sorry I can not help you out, I worked with all systems except protools. Good luck buddy, keep up the good stuff 👍😊

Nah, it's not the M4 Pro your problem... it's you too old interface with no support at all... i had the same problems years ago with a High Grade German Audio Card... No fucking drivers updates... and i had my interface in the ass... i have never reworked with this brand since that problem... other choices are just possible and are the solution...
