Just in case anyone was curious or didn't know about Dex-Starr: In his comic, he was taken in as a kitten in a litter of five that was abandoned, but taken in by an animal shelter. A woman who was lonely took him in and they were basically each other's one and only companions. One night, her place got robbed Dexter scratched the thief, but his scream woke up his owner and she was sadly murdered. Dexter got kicked out of his home when the police came to investigate the murder, not knowing it was Dexter's home and saying that the cat would contaminate the scene, and Dexter was homeless for a while, living in a box. One night two thugs called him out from his box and put him in a bag to throw him off the Brookyln Bridge for fun. Just as they were throwing him, a red lantern ring flew in , the rage in his heart drawing it to him, and he was turned into a Red Lantern known as Dex-Starr. He killed the thugs and remembering his owner, he promised to find her murderer for revenge.
