I would be selling if I still had em. More and more people are going to grade them now and then the number of gem mint tens will rise. 1996 marvel masterpieces will always be rare graded or not. One thing to be careful of with buying some sealed boxes of cards that have been sitting for decades- if you open them there is a chance the cards can all be stuck together, and will be ruined if you try to separate! Especially with the super high gloss Marvel Masterpieces. I recently bought a sealed box of ‘92 Marvel Masterpieces to open... once I did about 90% were ruined by sticking. The dealer refunded my money and said that it is common for old cards. Good luck!

the 1992 Marvel Masterpieces cards are going crazy, but what the Pokémon collectors need to realize is that this set was very high gloss, and 29 year old cards in packs and boxes usually stick. I opened 2 or 3 boxes 4-5 years ago and most stuck. not likely to get a 10 grading. even in climate control, high gloss over time will stick together.

I think the folks that are selling the cards right now are going to make out like bandits. When all these cards that are getting graded right now hit and flood the market the demand and price is going to drop big time. Doesn't it cost something like $50 to roll the dice and get something graded too? I have all these cards in a big binder too, I almost gave them to my nephews back in the day. Decided not to just because of the sentimental factor and knew they'd be destroyed and probably thrown out in a month.

@sabresportscards95413 жыл бұрын
Awesome stuff! A couple more things to think about *PSA Gem Mints 10s are worth ALOT more than a BGS 9.5 Gem mint. Most people refer to PSA as the benchmark. In modern sports cards area PSA is worth more per grade as well. A PSA 9 is going to end higher than a BGS 9 in most cases. I'm not sure if this will translate to Marvel cards *The surface of the cards is a big factor as well. The issue with a lot of the holograms are factory scratches or marks because of how sensitive the surfaces are. Another thing to look for are print dots or print lines directly from the manufacture. Discoloration of the board stock as well can happen with these cards. * Right now a lot of people are banking on PSA 10 being super low population counts( how many gem mint 10s there are in the world). With this surge a lot more people will submit cards to grade which will inevitably bump up the pop count higher. Just something to think about as the pop counts should increase over time if popularity keeps booming. Love your channel man glad to see cards in general are becoming more popular.

As a kid in 1990s with no internet. Aside from the comics the cards were the fastest way to learn about a character's stats, and their history. A lot of the cartoons were not running yet, or just started. So they were good for introducing kids to characters they had not seen yet. That's how I learned about Deadpool.

Dude awesome video. Brings back a lot of memories... especially the chase/hologram cards For me it was Marvel Universe series 2 (1991) that got me into & hooked on Marvel trading cards. I remember going to the flea market with my Mom as a young teen (she used to sell dogs there) and I would just spend hours at the comic booth and just buying packs of series 2 and those holograms...I believe those were the very first holograms (in card form) I had seen as a kid and so I was blown away by them. Hulk and Dr. Doom were my favorites... always *loved* pulling one of those
