Next time someone accuses me of having a ridiculous amount of knives, I’ll just direct them to this video; that should shut them up real quick!!. 🙃 Really though, I’ve been trying to pinpoint why I love knives so much and continue to buy them even though I already own enough to last two lifetimes. However, I just can’t seem to pin down a satisfactory answer. What are your thoughts on this?

KnifeColletor031, The diverse collection is being revealed, interesting. I'll watch for next reveal. I'm the guy with the USA LB-7 and West-Cut. Not a collector, just have a few including a few bayonets. I was wondering if you would comment on one of them. My research found a bayonet website and this info is from that. Its a M1884/98 III made by Rich A Herder 25cm blade with wood handle. clc 44 on both knife and scabbard, WaA51 on pommel made in 1944. But here is the possible prize, the same serial number is on knife and scabbard. I'd say unused but with decades of handling wear on steel sheath and one corrosion mark on blade. What have I got in a collectors eye based on this description? Gary PS, I spotted a Fireball too.

Thanks Gary. The M1884 is a beauty. You can find more info about the Mauser bayonet here: www.dday-overlord.com/en/material/weaponry/m1884-98-bayonet. The Herder family is well known for making knives for many decades. And each son or nephew started his own shop. So many Herder's were making good quality knives. Each with there own specialism. Yep Fireball in the collection as well :-)

@@Henk_Hakvoort Hank, Thanks for the reply. The M1884/98 III is in safe storage but next to it is possibly my bayonet prize, a Springfield Armory M1905 7XX,XXX s/n wood handle still a full 16" version with scabbard. But when I put it on the M1903 rifle you get a chill recognizing what that WWI combination meant to a US Soldier. The knife shows field sharpening. It's nice your profession became a passion, not just a job. Gary

So glad you are doing this!!, I wanted to ask you, can you buy spyderco janisong in your country? I can not here in the u.s., I can own, just not purchase.
@Henk_Hakvoort4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shane. Thanks a lot. We can not buy a Janisong in our country, but we can order it. For example Finnish reseller Lamnia has them in stock and we can order without a problem there. A couple of years back I ordered one for a buddy.
@Shanes_Sharp_Sheet4 жыл бұрын
@@Henk_Hakvoort Lamnia wont ship them to us here in the u.s., its redicules if you ask me, but I guess it is how spyderco wants to do it. I am a collector as well, and the janisong is frustrating, every now and then they show up here, but people want to charge $300-$400 for them. Maybe one day you could get me one and we could work out a trade or something lol!, thanx again for your videos, I always enjoy, and am looking forward to the next collection video!

@@Shanes_Sharp_Sheet I can imagiine this is frustrating. Maybe we can work something out.
