Great Job Vince 👍Yes those are MOSFETS. They usually have two, one is for under voltage, and one is for over voltage. they are controlled by the small battery management IC. Yes it's easy to get confused over resistors marked 100 and think it's 100 ohm. I've done it myself 😂😂those 10A and 10D etc resistors are even more of a pain. Sometimes those BMS chips need to be "reset" by connecting the charger as you say "liven it up", but sometimes they are one shot, or have a memory so they never recover once triggered. Had that with the ring doorbell quite a while ago... Great job once again. Well done, I look forward to seeing your Mohican 😂😂😂😂😂

Hey Vince. Nice work. The board mounted on the Li-ion battery is known as a protection circuit module (PCM). It is a standard module which protects the cell against over/under voltage aswell as short circuits. It normally contains 2 MosFets and a protection controller IC which is usually a DW01+ chip. If you search for DW01+ you should find a Schematic. The PCM does not control battery charging, it is a last resort protection for the cell.

Regarding the "47" resistor. It's value would be easy to find by looking at the markings on the charging chip and looking up the reference design of the charging circuit build around that chip.

Vince, regarding the microscope.. could it be you are unplugging it too fast before it actually finishes the saving process? Maybe it continues on the background. Many of these digital microscopes have the option to save the recording every couple of minutes. You will end with more files but you will never loose an entire take and.. excellent fix by the way, i keep forgetting how to read the smd resistors myself as well 😅

SMD code 470 is a 47 Ohm resistor Vince. Think of it as the last digit is the 'multiplier x10 (or how many zeros after the first two numbers)' if it is a 0, then there is no multiplier, so it is the first 2 digits only, as the value. 😊

the money you spent on that micro scope you could have had a normal one with a 4k camera and 3 barlo lenses , nice smd ruler though , might be worth getting one .as for resistor values 4R7 would be 4.7 ohms , i think the one you removed was 47ohms 470 written on the resistor , hence the 10ohm resistors you put on are 10R0 = 10.0 ohms and when searching for resistor values always use a resistor calculater ,askin google what 100 ohm resistor value is will just give you a 100 ohm answer .

Piece of (well learned) advice: Get some thinner solder for SMT devices! That "47" resistor is wrong, at the 0603 size there are always 3 characters, so your guess of 47 ohms could be well off?

I was wondering the situation with the microscope, but I thought maybe it was resolved. I saw my model (Andonstar ad207s) on sale a month ago, half what I originally payed for it. Absolute bargain. I love my microscope. (Except the stand, need more clearance from column). Never once had any corrupt files. I tried it last week with a 128GB Samsung microsd (which is larger than the recommended size), worked no issues. My advice isn't HDMI to PC and OBS (what a silly workaround). It's.. you will need a new microscope :)) Something must be faulty with your current one. New microscope. No more corrupt files

@LAZERBLADE1945 сағат бұрын
Heya Vince, That 47 resistor could be 470 or 471 and so on I guess, but it seems like an odd number. Why wouldn't they use another 100 or something? I don't know. Or it could have been a letter to signify tolerance? Look up EIA96 resistors, they have a letter at the end which would equal three digits and they equal out to even numberish like a 47A is a 301 by 1% tolerance. Good job on the fix!

Excellent - Can the microscope be plugged into an external monitor, then you can video or video capture outside of the microscope itself? With any of the generative AI, I class them as Search 2.0 - as in they get you closer to what you are looking for and with no adverts (YET) - The effect of getting it wrong is something like an hallucination, you know like, ask it, draw me a hand paw and you get a dog paw with 6 digits, you just have to change, experiment with what your prompt. if you asked in your question/prompt: "What is the draw rate of X, show source", that can sometimes force the AI to do some deeper linking. That said like with all these AI products , they are great at trawling data, but you as the expert have the final say if what they are showing is true or at least in the right context. Way better people are doing really exciting things with AI on website like Huggingface and yes tons of youtube content. Once again excellent job 🙂
