I just wanted to clarify something: perfume maceration is a perfume production technique that involves soaking the material in a solvent, as a result of which the liquid absorbs its fragrance components. What you are talking about, i.e. the completion of the chemical reactions in the perfume bottle, as a result of which the target scent changes slightly, is maturation 😊

Nope, maturation is the process of letting the concentrated formula settle for a period of time. This video talks about oxidation. You are correct on what maceration is however.

No, it's maceration. We let our fragrances macerate and settle once we get them. Macerate is the correct term.

The whole fragance community keeps using the wrong term because a random KZbinr used it and then people kept repeating it like parrots, but they know nothing about perfume production. Educate yourself. Maceration CANNOT be done after the perfume is produced.

Up until a little bit ago,, I never realized or knew before that perfumes can be so different from person to person not only on strength and longevity but also on how they smell. Many say "oh you are not doing things right when applying perfume and that's why they don't last on you" and/or lot of the scents that some go crazy about don't have the same effect on me or my skin. They just don't smell as wonderful to me. Some perfumed I love might not be treasures to others. For example, like you, I tried to love Assam Gold and Yara but I just like them. They are not bad but nothing to go crazy about...and that's my experience and it's as valid as yours and the rest of the world's. By the way, I'd love to hear your story.. we all have so much that makes us who we are...maybe one day we can get to know you better and you us. Always a pleasure seeing your videos. Thank you Sim 😊

Sim I am 100% with you on Ansaam Gold... It has been macerating for over a month and, even though it's gotten sweeter and not as disgusting, it STILL smells like that detergent bar, which is gross! Meanwhile my Nebras, Khamrah and Yara came READY to party and smelt amazing from the first spray!!!

I'm with you on Lattafa's Ansaam fragrance--I can't stand that one. Yeah, and Lattafa went on a fruity and floral coconut laconic kick, and those frags are you either love it or hate it. I wear my Yara, after bathing and for bed. Yara Moi, the same, I will not repurchase. My bottles are several months old and VERY strong. I love Sondos :) Fursan Limited is 🤮 yuck🤮 . Tag Her is take or leave too. I do like musk. It works well on my skin. I know some people can't wear it. I have Yara Tous, my 6 year old wears that. It's a juvenile fragrance to me.

Hello my beautiful babe ❤ The green pendant is a Moldavite-Herkimer Diamond combo bought from @markbajersky ❤ It is my always to wear pendant. My nail esthetician wanted to try the magnet nail on me and I am so glad I let her. It is very festive ❤❤❤ I quite like Yara but the hype was very off point, so I went into it thinking it would be a blast and it was so mediocre. Very pretty buy sadly not what made it viral you know :(

Oh yes, the middle eastern perfumes must have time to fully develop. I have found that with all my M.E. purchases. Most especially my oud perfumes, seems those need the most time for the top and heart notes to come through. I'm curious about your Angel Share clones have improved as well. ❤

Morning simin ..thanks for the great review . My scent today is janoon oud 😊 I dont get the hype with Yara either , a tad generic for me .. I found both modest duex and kamrah much much better after maceration ... Kamrah smelt too ' boozy' to me , 4 months later & i love it , that cinnamon spiced apple is gorgouse ... Modest duex felt a bit ' sharp' .. Its now one of my favourite scrnts and i love the powdery rose which stays prescent for at least 3/4 hours ... Thanks to you i have learned to leave some of my perfumes to sit untouchrd for a while , ❤

Hi Sim, I get that soapy-but-in-a-bad-way note from Ansaam Gold if I go for more than 5-6 sprays each time haha. If I don't go overboard though it's a nice fluffy floral scent that lingers around for 4hrs at most if I don't move around. 😩💔

Yara is basically almond essence, vanilla, marshmallow and almond milk plus a hint of some kind of alchohol essence one can use for baking along with almond essence and vanilla. Unfortunately I am not much of an almond essence fan.

Ok so I initially loved Sondos, but I now have decided it smells lovely on old potpourri around my house lol.. on skin there’s something irky. The bottle also looks like the Olympic torch 😂! Same with Ansaam Gold! It smells so flat to me.. so in the potpourri it goes! Both would be great as candles, just not perfume 😂!

hey and thanks again for letting us know how you find these fragrances after they´ve aged some. Of these i have only private gold and nasheet. Nasheet i love, and it stays on me for a good while, but only as skin scent. At first spray i was not sure how to feel about it, on next try i found out i like it really a lot. Private gold i like, but not that much, a bit generic. Right now i´m wearing it with mocha wood, together they do smell lovely. Of the others i do plan to get a sample of ansaam gold and sutoor. They sound worth trying out, but only with sample first, even though they are so hyped out. It was good to hear that not everyone loves them. You have your unique style, and your unique regard for the fragrances. As you said, we all don´t have to love the same fragrances and that would be boring, all of us using only same ones. Our skin chemistry, culture, the way we have grown up regarding to the smells, age and climate affect a lot what kind of fragrances suit us. Some fragrances that i love now, i could not have imagined wearing when i was younger. Many of us have fragrances that we used to love and wear but we grew out of them. I´ll be waiting to see your declutter video. Good luck with that. I`m developing bad tendency being horrible hoarder myself. :P

I’m not a fan of Yara either. It is so hyped up and it didn’t last at all. The scent is generic and reminiscent of a BBW scent. I can’t smell it after 30 minutes. It’s been macerating because I’m just not interested in picking it up to try again lol. I may try layering with it before selling it. Great video! Al Qaed Fursan was just meh for me. I hate the horse on the bottle. But I like the magnetic top.

Hey Simin😊 I don’t know if I have an older bottle but I don’t get any fruity notes or florals- I smell wood, cashmere veviter…For me, it’s warm, smoky ( in a good way) like an Oud- It’s my cozy, snuggled in a blanket,with the fireplace going … perfume😁Yet, when my friend smells it on me, she gets a different note profile and it’s not her fave- Lol😁 I went upstairs and started spraying it and NOW I smell the powder- I don’t smell any of the notes I thought I smelled😂😂😂 I’m so confused🫣🤪

Hi my hun, it is the same with Gerry and I. He is the opposite of an hoarder, he has been patient with me over the last decades and been so understanding. But I HAVE to declutter and stop hoarding. I really have issues letting go, I feel, this is my excuse and I am sticking to it, that I had to leave all my loved ones when I was 14 to come to Tasmania (I lived with my grandmother aged 9 to 14 ) and then my mother took me to this different continent. I would love to hear your life story, my soul sister. Perhaps this is also a reason why you feel it is hard to let go of things. BTW I am with you with Ansaam Gold, sorry for any typos , I am meant to be doing some house work but had to watch my girl Sim's new video, Gerry will understand. I lost it, when you said the next one looks like a medieval sexual torture device, and snap, I said something similar about that one. I have to get the one you keep wearing as I love LA NUIT TRÉSOR so much. But I blind bought Lattafa Qaed Al Fursan Unlimited and was so bitterly disappointed as it does not smell at all what I imaged it to smell like. I sprayed it once ( since I left it for 6 months or so ) as an air freshener and it was OK as that but I doubt I will ever wear it. Not my cup of tea. I know I always tell friends , try it on your skin but I could NOT put this on my skin as I would feel nauseaus for sure. Have to try this out again as I want to try some layering with some of the perfumes that are Meh to me or on me. PS 2. I just bought Jazaab Gold as I love La Nuit Tresor and it sounds so lovely and easy to wear. Sorry but had to add Gerry bought me Sutoor thinking I wanted it as I had added it in my cart but bought Moira Silky Rose instead. I put it away and left it and tried it and I must be lucky as on my skin I get a lovely caramelized peach with some notes of cognac or so and there is a green note I am not fond of but it is spicy and smells lovely. Gerry really likes this one on me. I think body chemistry has a lot to do with this perfume. A friend of mine has Khamrah and also thought I was wearing that perfume. She then tried my Sutoor and it smelled bitter with a really weird note on her skin. She did not get the lovely dry down with the spices and caramelized peaches and cognac. A collection of disappointments….😂😂😂 Your scarf (I don’t know what it’s called) and your earrings are perfect together! I always try to figure out whether your hair is long or short. It’s a well kept secret…😂😂😂 I like the Yaras…. I don’t love them. My favorite out of that bunch of ugly bottles is Asad. The best luck I’ve had with letting a perfume sit is with Casablanca. When I first got it I wondered whether other people were smelling the same perfume!!!😮 After sitting for about three months, it was totally different. And very good! So nice to see you!💛

😂😂😂 I wish I could just keep making everyone laugh. I don't think there is any better achievement than that. So basically if the cloth is square it is called a scarf but if it is a long rectangle it is called a Sheila (pronounced as Sheyla) hehe. My hair is quite short but I am trying to grow it out now. It literally grows one cm every year lol. So another benefit of wearing the scarf is that I never have a bad hair day 😂😂😂 Oh my, Asad is my absolutely fav too from these bottles. The biggest problem with middle eastern perfume is that they mostly come in 100ml bottles, so if u don't like it you have to tolerate it for a long time.

I dislike Yara too. To me, it smells like a very diluted vanilla milk with lots of sugar. My youngest sister liked it so I gave the decant to her. On the other hand, my mother and I love the smell of Mayar. It smells like lychee with some green freshness, not that floral. I'll definitely get a full bottle soon.

Having an extreme reaction to milk is a real... having hives and itching actually occurs because my son gets it. As an infant, he was allergic to all babyformula, baby treats, and baby cereals. He would have diarrhea, hives, itching, 102°+ fever, and eventually bloody stools. So, I understand your situation.

I don't hv anything like this in my entire collection. I hv recd sample of it with my purchases. U can visit at mall nd sniff it nd u might like Marj also which is floral nd sandalwood type smell with oud becoz u like typical oud ( which I m getting horse stable type smell nd I m not liking it). By the I was busy in my Diwali work ( cleaning of house nd all😜)nd last week I was out for 2 days picnic so not able to see ur video on time nd replying becoz there was network problem. U r my soul sister for sure😘😘. I also don't like milk nd milk products nd shakes .❤❤❤

Putting them in the fridge does what? I don’t understand that. I keep mine in a dark room, spray them out real good to let the oxygen in and check them out in a month later or so. I keep a journal with dates of purchase and write the house, name etc.
